If you don't have a physics background this class will be very challenging. The professor means well but cannot present the information in a way that can be understood. She is often corrected by students and if asked questions , fumbles with a meaningful answer. Very frustrating class .

Comment:

She assigns so much busy work that repeatedly hammers the same concept over and over. But since every homework is work 10 points out of 1,500... What the heck? Her teaching style is terrible too because it seems she does lecture based on other people's work since she doesn't know what's happening occasionally.

Comment:

Mrs. Elaqad was very sweet and did put in a lot of effort. Unfortunately she did not follow to book when it came to her lesson plan and that made it a bit difficult to figure out some of the homework. The reason that I was able to pass was because I participated in class and did my homework. If not for that I would not have done well.

This is one teacher that shouldn't be teaching. She seems to have a tenuous grasp of the subject she claims to have taught for over a decade, and her explanations are vague at best. When asked a question she simply outlines the steps instead of giving any explanation about WHY to take those steps. And I have found that she talks down to me as well.

It is sometimes difficult to understand her English, but she is always helpful and knowledgeable. She challenges students without overworking us. There is also a clear method for getting a good grade on every test.

Comment:

Mrs. Elaqad obviously knew her stuff, but she was not always easy to understand. Sometimes it was her accent and sometimes she just couldn't explain the concepts simple enough to grasp. The labs were fun and she was helpful when we got stuck on them. The book was a great help especially for the tests, which were not easy.

She tries really hard to be a good professor, but she just isn't a good teacher. She assigns allot of homework, and her lectures are horrible (she does things like writting on the chalkboard directly in front of her so you can't see what it is she is writting, and then doesn't explain what is on the board once you can see it).

She is just completely unclear. Its not just mathmatical errors but when she explains consepts they are just WRONG! She has taken extra days to reexplain things because she taught wrong the day before

Relates material to everyday life, and is a fairly good instructor. However it felt like she lacked decent preparation, and her english is not 100%. Overall she is fair.

She was by far the worst teacher that I have ever had. She had no idea what she was talking about most of the time, and I could not understand her the rest of the time. To pass the class I just ignored her lectures, and read the chapters from the book. I would learn more from reading for 20 minutes, then listening to her talk for 2 hours.
