A very boring professor who doesn't bring much real-world experience to the table. Unfortunately, there is no alternative for the intermediate accounting classes.

Knows his stuff but so boring and just lectures for the entire class. Test are really difficult, especially MC, because he expects you to know pretty much everything and doesn't ever really tell you what's on the exam. Nice guy though, just not a great professor.

Comment:
Lectures are boring and do not cover enough of the information that is on the tests. Grade consists of just three exams, which are very difficult. He is the only option for this required class for accounting majors. Definitely a class where most of your study time will be devoted to as the concepts are difficult to understand.

Comment:
He is the only option for two very crucial classes and although he is very well educated and has an answer for almost everything, students are very nervous to speak up or contribute because of the attitude he sets. Wish it was easier to learn the material - especially for the CPA!!

Boring lectures that don't help much for tests. Midterm was ridiculous but Final was less difficult but still hard(he probably got the message after seeing midterm scores). Seems like a nice guy. He is the only option for Intermediate Financial Accounting I and II

Comment:
He doesn't do much to involve students, so lectures are very boring. He's also an academic with no real-world experience. His counterpart, Professor Adler, was a partner at Deloitte for over 30 years and is able to weave in entertaining, true stories that add to class understanding. If you're looking for an engaging class, don't take Pfeiffer.

One of the most difficult profs at Chapman. His utilizes very comprehensive case studies, you really need to know the material. If you ask him for help, be prepared, he is willing to help but won't waste anyones time.

If you're used to having organized problems and notes to help study for exams, this class will be difficult. The tests are really difficult - especially the multiple choice questions which come from nowhere. Reading the book doesn't even help for the most part. The good news is, the class itself is very low pressure.

Good professor, but tough to do well in the class because he isn't as organized with problems/notes/lectures so you are pretty much on your own with taking notes and preparing for tests. No practice exams or hw so I had no idea what to expect on the exams. He is a nice guy though and helpful if you ask for it.

This is an excellent teacher! Accounting has always been one of my least favorite subjects, but he was able to make it interesting. He does not waste your time with useless info. and is very concerned about his students. You will actually get some real world applications in this classroom!
