Comment:

Great teacher. He is extremely organized, speaks clearly, and explains everything well. He does not use the textbook and the book info isn't similar to his problems. His notes are printed handouts with formulas and problems which are extremely helpful. Definitely take stat with him and don't buy the book - I never opened it.

Great guy. Tries to be funny (sometimes is). One homework per week, test is identical to problems found. Don't even buy the textbook - he'll tell you to return it. Easy A.

Such a sweet guy, smiles the whole lecture. Only one homework assignment per week and you can manage to skip class once a week if needed. Tests aren't hard but his make-up policy has little wiggle room. Front and back cheat sheet for every exam! As long as you try a little you'll get an A-

He is a fantastic professor! Lectures are extremely organized and he explains the material in great detail so it is very clear. He gives his students every oppurtunity to do well in this class. It is clear that he is enthusiastic about the subject and really cares about his students.

He makes the studying the subject very simple. He makes a photocopy of all the notes for the day so you can just pick them up in class and add stuff as he goes over it in class. The homework is very easy. You do not need the book. Just do the practice tests and that should be enough for studying. Easy A.

Since this class is for business majors, I have no idea why it isn't combined with Quantitative methods. Both classes are incredibly easy and move at a snail's pace. Gordon is an enthusiastic lecturer and does a decent job at teaching stat, but my TA helped me learn the material better than he did.

Honestly, i don't know how people can give him a bad reviews. Stat is a dry subject so yeah lecture isn't very interesting. However, the class is just plain easy. He gives you all you need to prepare for each exam, and if you don't get at least an A- then its on you. Don't buy the book, he provides good notes. I didn't touch it once

He is annoying. His examples are corny, but his class is super easy and he has clear cut examples. Study the note packets and you'll do well on his tests. (you don't need the book for this class)

Very enthusiastic! He definitely loves teaching. He gives notes before class and you follow along and add what he ads. Very easy class, though lectures can sometimes be boring. I missed about seven classes and still got an A-. He is very friendly and very approachable. Definitely worth taking.

Gordon is definitely the happiest professor at Pitt and LOVES teaching. His class notes have blanks to encourage people to come to class. If you go its very entertaining- he makes up his own examples that usually relate to college life so he keeps it interesting. Exam scores are in the high B's. allows a cheat sheet front and back for each exam

the bk is in the lib. hes very open 2 Qs, explains things in class very well. class is ~ HW, 3 tests(60%) n final (25%). theyr not that hard, but studying still recommended. hes nice and quirky.

TAKE THIS TEACHER! Very easy course. Exams are very straight-forward. Majority of students get an A. Class average is a B+ and he does not curve down. Funny, quirky man.

He is so enthusiastic! It is obvious he loves what he does and wants you to learn. He doesn't use the book but he clarifies concepts well. The class was relatively easy but one issue may be you don't learn to use excel which is pretty standard in stats courses and may come back to haunt you in the future. Overall, great prof worth taking!

If you have taken stat before, this class is a joke. I often counted in the back of the class how many times he asked the word "questions? questions?", or I counted how many times he paced back and forth. Class was boring, but you need to go to learn the easy concepts as he doesn't teach from the book. Bring something to do also.

Comment:

Prof. Weinberg is not just a wonderful person, but one of the most organized, prepared, clear, caring, understanding, and knowledgeable professors I have had. It was merely an intro Stats course, and I'm not particularly interested in math, but Prof. W. continuously uses relevant examples to everyday life and conducts every class with energy!
