I didn't learn much in his class and we barely did anything so it didn't do justice in me trying to improve my spanish. He's funny though so I guess he's got that going for him

Honestly he was one of my favorite professors in my college career. I took him for four consecutive semesters. I went through some extreme highs and lows through my college career, and every time I was in a low, my performance would suffer. His class honestly was like therapy. It was chill, and he really tries to make it a big family. 3 him 4vr :)

Gives you good feedback if you seek it. There are presentations for this course: group and individual. Participation is required for all his courses. He allows extra credit. If he doesn't reply to his email, remind him next class or visit his office hours. He isn't too good with computers, but is more than happy to help you.

Unclear, not very nice to you if you're not a native speaker, not welcoming, not receptive to emails or giving support, almost dropped my spanish minor if I had to take him again

His class level is very low. It is easy to get an A if you write on your essay all what he says on his lectures. His class is not very challenging. He is very traditional and catholic professor. although it seems the contrary : he tends to make jocks after jock in class. His class lacks of critical thinking .

The BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! He really cleared up the vagueness I had accumulated from previous Spanish classes and was very helpful with additional info to get me up to level. Just follow the syllabus he gives every month, turn your work in on time, and listen to his lectures and you can score an A. HE KNOWS HIS STUFF AND MAKES IT FUN & INTERESTING

Dr. Calderon knows his subject backwards and forwards and puts it all in historical context and more with his awe-inspiring lectures!! Never a dull moment in his classroom and the assignments are designed to make one really search for the connections between genres, styles, and literary periods. There was a reading to do but I LOVED IT!!

There's a midterm paper for this class, and some group presentations, try to talk in class and do the wok book. I would recommend to go to his office hours if anything is unclear. Calderon is an interesting fellow. I would say crazy in his way. He s very passionate about Spanish. The first day of class he might be a bit intimidating, but as long as you talk in class and give your opinion in things and do the work book he will give you an "A". Try to go to his office hours and he will help as much as he can.
