Comment:
Bankoff is a nice person, but bad teacher. Only graded on 3 tests. He teaches the material orally: no Powerpoints or lectures, and you read on your own. It can get pretty boring, and he takes forever to grade the tests, which he doesn't even provide study guides for, given the lack of information taught. But he does provide once heck of a curve.

He is nice but kind of boring, no hw, no paper, no project. Only 3 exams. BUT its super easy A. He will give out review sheets every time, it very helpful. The exam is all multiple choice and he will give extra credit on final.

He's a nice guy but a terrible professor. Your entire grade is based on 2 midterms and a final. To do well, buy the textbook and read on your own and memorize as best you can. Avoid unless that's what you prefer to do. EC offered on the final, up to +30 points. Goes to show how poor everyone did that he had to offer that much. Still failing tho

seems like a really sweet man but this class was boring and impossible. lectures are textbook based, so he basically recites an overview of whatever chapter is on the powerpoint. tests are difficult if you can't memorize all the terms in the textbook, but they're multiple choice so if all else fails, guess.

totally not accessible, barely answers emails, lectures are monotone, boring, and all over the place. he's sweet but like, honestly not a great prof and his class is just not easy to pass. there were a few that did but everyone just didn't do well. made us do a museum and zoo project which was such a hassle. avoid if possible!!!!!!

I had him twice, once for field school and once abroad in Israel for a field class. He doesn't get involved in what you are doing, doesn't seem very interested in students and just lets you do your own thing. However, if you don't work very hard he will give you a bad grade. He is good head of the department, but not a great teach.

i had him for into to archaeology. he was flaky and unreliable and very very boring. very disinterested and his tests were extremely diffilult. he couldnt understand why we didnt wrap out brains around all the harvard knowledge he has. he's a really nice guy though, he's the head of the dept. so its nice to get to know him.

I HIGHLY recommand his biblio archeology class. He is very intelligent and makes the subject even more interesting. The classes as fun. Exams are hard, but do-able... you might be required to do a presentation, but that's a piece of cake. He takes time to grade the exams and can be a little misorganized, but it's really not a big deal.
