A true LEGEND. I've had Harry for Foley, Higher Ground, Visual Storytelling, and back in ol' SFA. He's seriously the MAN. If you're a Dodge student, you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't take a class with him. Knows a ton about sound/editing and his lectures are so cool. Best to take Foley with him! Forever my favorite professor.

Harry is awesome. He's extremely laid back and flexible. He doesn't restrain you to the strict guidelines of the syllabus and instead gives you complete creative freedom during your projects. Even though his lectures don't teach you thaaat much, his feedback is really helpful. Listen to his notes on other people's and your projects and learn a lot.

Comment:

This class was great. Cheney is really interested in helping you learn and wants you to succeed. Also, make sure to do at least some work on your sound for your projects. Be creative in his class. You don't have to be afraid that he'll chew you out. He'll only do that if you don't do the work.

Comment:

Harry is the chillest professor at Dodge and at the same time cares very much about his class. He allows you to break guidelines and rules on projects if you do a good job. He tells you what works and what doesn't. Take his class for Visual Storytelling! It's fun, easy, and quite the learning experience.

Harry is the best! He is the ONLY teacher that lets you work in groups. He's super funny and gives great helpful feedback on the video assignments. He let's you shot whatever you want and is always willing to give you an extension. I would love to take another class with him. If you have to take Visual Storytelling take it with him!!!

Even though his Visual Storytelling class is usually at 8:30am, it is worth waking up early for! There is no better teacher to take for this class. He basically breaks all of the rules of the class to give you more creative freedom with your projects. He's awesome to say the least.

Relatively easy for how difficult the content is. I hate sound editing, but he was not a strict grader at all, and his grading was pretty objective. If you're interested in the subject, take his classes for sure!

The only reason attendance is mandatory is because that's basically all you're graded on. This class should only last 4 weeks, not 15. There's only so much material to learn, and after a certain point, you're doing the same stuff every class. Cheney is also NOT tech-savvy and gets very flustered easily. Pretty amusing. Show up: easy A.

Professor Cheney is great! He's very approachable and down to earth. As a freshman I stumbled into his office by chance and he helped advise me on course/instructor choices even though he wasn't my advisor. Soph. year I enrolled in his Visual Storytelling class. He was supportive and encouraged the class to work together to develop story ideas.

Harry is by far one of the best professors at Chapman has to offer. He's kind, helpful, and really knows his stuff when in comes to film making and gives excellent constructive criticism. Favorite professor, take Visual Storytelling, Editing, and Foley with him!

Cheney is the best. He has a wicked sense of humor. He's willing and able to help you if you have a problem. Don't let his crusty demeanor fool you, he's a very nice guy and a wondeful teacher. His critiques are never mean spirited and he has a great knowledge of filmmaking.

I really enjoyed the class, but if you try and make something that is different then Cheney's ideology, he thinks its wrong and you may not get a good grade. He gave everyone a B+ on the final regardless of the film or content. Besides that its a cakewalk.

Cheney is frickin amazing! I learned so much in this class. He is laid back, yet very focused on what needs to be done. He may seem a little intimidating at first, but he's really one of the nicest people I've ever met. Take a class from him!

cheney is pretty much awesome. His comments on your projects are really helpful, and he really speaks the truth and says where what you did was great and where it went all wrong. It's raw and honest critique and in the end very helpful. He is very funny and very laid back. Cheney is the guy you want as your professor. Highly recommended.
