Comment:

Have taken 3 of his classes and passed them all easily. However, the work he gives you is very tedious and a majority of it is unnecessary. He does not give any feedback, and he rarely, if ever responds to emails. Avoid taking him unless you just want a semi-easy grade with no feedback whatsoever.

Comment:

In his class you have about five or 6 modules to do and that is the only grades you get. He does not give any feedback, he rarely responds to emails, and if he does its a very vague response. Gives Vague instructions on assignments. Slow grader as well. I don't recommend.

Comment:

Dr. Joiner is very understanding and an easy grader. He is the author of the textbook so you won't pass without it. He tends to jump around in lectures, but provides study guides which are almost the exact test. 95% of answers can be found in the book. The only downside to his class is that he calls on every student in every class using the role.

Dr. Joiner is an amazing professor!! I have taken most of the classes he offers. I am interested in History, Politics, Current Events and things of that sort though, so that may make a difference. His class is very to the point. He gives you everything you need to do very well in his class.

Super easy,very helpful, and all around nice professor. I don't ever bother buying his textbooks because everything you need is on his filled out study guide.I have learned more by reading his 7 page study guides than the Government teacher's 25 page ridiculous study guide! Highly recommend Joiner!

love his classes.. only had him for blended... all you have to do is study the notes for 3 or 4 hours before the test and you are good to go.. easy a... i love how he understands that people have lives outside of school.. and you know exactly what to study.. awesome professor!

Comment:

He is a nice guy and probably the best history teacher at Athens State (though that isn't really saying much). He seems to be the only History teacher at Athens who understands some of us have families and a life and will work with you. His tests are also reasonable in difficulty.

He is one of the EASIEST teachers I have ever had. Do not bother taking any notes until he gives out review questions (which are exactly what's on every test). He will call on you in class to answer questions, but just keep up with where he is in the book and you'll find the answer quick. He is also very helpful if you don't understand something.

Dr. Joiner is wonderful! He can be a bit monotone at times but he is very helpful and wants everyone to understand the material, so he's not about making his tests overly hard. He goes over study questions which are exactly what is on the test! Very nice and helpful teacher and just person in general

He is ok. He will call your name out of nowhere and ask you questions. He does give a study guide but he will trick you on the test. Like pick the incorrect answer and give you a bunch of junk to have to fiqure out. Dont take notes till the study guide day.

Oh my. Stay awake!!! He's very monotone. He calls on people all during class. Prepare prior to class, take notes...TAKE NOTES, LOTS. He'll give you a study guide. However, even if you study all night the T/F tests are TRICKY. But, he is a nice man and knows his subjects.
