Herb is a very nice and caring guy, but his lectures are rough. He lectures off power points all class and gets side tracked very easily. We did not have tests in the class but had a few large papers. He is a very laid back grader, but his lectures are extremely boring and hard to pay attention to. If you want an easy but boring class, take Herb.

There are no tests or quizzes, just a lot of papers. Pretty easy grader on papers, just do as he asks. Don't buy the textbook, I didn't open it once.

This instructor is not interested in doing his job at all. He is a field liaison and his supposed 18yrs at SVSU does not say much for the college. If a student is having problems in field, he will let them sink AND give them a bad grade even if it is not the student's fault. He will not answer emails and will always try to pass blame on the student

VERY BORING MAN. Drones on and on. Tests are moderate, paper is easy though time consuming. His powerpoints suck, he goes through them too fast and they are WAY too wordy. I would advoid taking him if at all possible.

He seems like a good guy. The tests were all just common sense. His powerpoints are very wordy and he goes through them really quickly, usually before people finish writing. Paper is not difficult, but time consuming. You may not need to buy book if you manage to write down everything from the powerpoints and study off of that.

Herb Herd is a nice guy but as far as teaching goes I'd skip taking him if I were you. He's very particular and will keep you over ever class session.

His class was a BIG waste of my money. You have no test. One paper, and one group presentation that you are graded on as a group. He picks the groups pray that you don't get a sucky group. I got an A in this class. Take reading material and don't by the book. I never used it a waste of $75. If you can don't take Herb. Very boring.

I thought Mr. Herd was a very nice person, although I think his class was too critical of his teaching methods. If you follow his instructions then the class will go well. I was always able to get help from Mr. Herd and I did just fine.

Follow his handout on how to write the research paper, and you must ask questions about what goes where or else you'll end up doing something wrong. Attendance is a big part of your grade...just so you'll show up, very boring...I would not suggest buying the book...WASTE OF MONEY, we never used it!!
