Comment:

I had him for lab (not lecture) and really struggled. I did well and moderately enjoyed the Bio123 lecture, but did not understand the lab material well at all, it didn't overlap with the lecture unless we learned about it weeks after we had the lab on it. I enjoyed Pomfrey's personality a lot, but didn't feel he explained the lab work clearly.

I hate science but I can't deny that Pomfrey is an excellent prof. No problems with him, I just hate the subject. But he's really helpful (in and out of class) and obviously very concerned for his (even non-bio major) students. Nice guy. Take him and good luck.

pomfrey is awesome. i'm not a science major but he made biology something i can understand. he is super helpful and will answer any type of question you have in class. when i did poorly on a test, he went over the information with me one on one. his practice tests in the library definitely help too.

Such a fantastic teacher. Going to his class was a highlight of the semester. Makes biology so easy to understand. I second the comment below... use the practice tests in the library! So helpful. If you go to class you will have to try hard not to learn anything.

Herb is a great teacher! He is very clear and to-the-point but he is also laid back and can be silly at times. Go to his lectures if you want to do well on exams because sometimes he talks about stuff that isn't in the book.

Prof. Pomfrey is, hands down, the best teacher I have had at college (I'm a second-semester Soph). His lectures are very interesting, there is no homework, and the tests are challenging but doable. He is very nice and easy to talk to. I would recommend him to anyone! (He's also really good at ping-pong).

Tests are super hard and he words questions to be tricky.Nice guy but way too tough on his test questions.The amount of and type of material you are expected to learn is ridiculous for a non-major course.Oh, and all the final test IS cumulative!I'd take someone else if you have the option!

I sometimes struggle with science concepts, but I actually learned a lot in his class. Very interesting prof. Take him for both lab and lecture if you have the chance. He puts practice tests in the library...use them! They will help you later on the test.

Professor Pomfrey gives very good lectures which are easy to follow and easy to take notes to. He also illustrates alot of what hes talking about which makes the material much easier to understand. I definitely recommend him!

Mr. Pomfrey is a great teacher. I had him for lab and class. He really tries to help if you have any questions. He also offers extra credit which is always a plus. His test are not easy, but if you study you will pass. Take him, He is great!
