You can tell Prof Hickey is getting ready to retire. He just goes through the motions. If you pay attention in class and read assigned textbook chapters, you should do just fine. PAY ATTENTION to what he says will be on quizzes!!! He only grades on quizzes-they're usually relatively easy if you've done reading and memorized what he's told you to.

Worst professor thus far. Would leave during labs and really wouldn't teach us. NEVER taught or instructed us how to do the labs. He would give you the answer after belittling you in from of others. I don't think he really cares anymore as retirement is next year.

Extremely easy; took it as an 8-week "telecourse" over the summer; he gave us a "preview quiz" and told us exactly what would be on the REAL quiz a week before; Labs are done in class so it's easy to ask him for help (labs were no problem); funny guy and VERY laid-back. Yes, the subject is boring! But hey, it's a breeze just showing up!

boring, but easy. i never did great on the tests or labs. i shoulda got a c but he gave me a b. my labs were mediocre and so were my tests. all you gotta do is show up and do the labs. he also tells you exactly whats on the tests. there are only 3 tests. i would recomend it just for the easiness.

Teacher is flaky. Not helpful likes to leave class during videos and labs. Apparently youre kissin his a** if you tell him you actually like science. So very rude on his part to critisize someones intrest!!! Very sour jokes,(Especially about woman)found him very rude to women who question his comments, teaching methods or just have questions.

The material is tough - physical geology, but he was a very fair grader. I thought I was going to get a C- or D+, but ended up with a B-. Grades on a curve. Pretty funny, too!
