I took Prof Weinberg during the Spring 2016 semester as an online class. Very little teacher interaction. Class included only critiques and one 9 page paper at the end. Got all B's. Professor somehow didn't receive ONE paper which I submitted. Gave me a "C". Revised to a "C+" after I appealed the missing paper. Never received grade for 9 paper

Comment:

He is so smart and you pick up on that throughout the semester with his input on certain situations. you NEED the book no matter what if you want to pass. I suggest underlining everything he says and rewriting into a notebook after each class so it is in one place. With he taught more classes in school bc he was great to have.

Comment:

Dr. Wineberg is the man! One of best classes I have taken at BCC! Consists of discussion, tests, and a paper. He tells you exactly what to study for the tests. There is one paper that he doesn't give that many guidelines on, but it is a fairly easy to write. Wish I could take him again. Highly recommend.

Comment:

Great class. You discuss about recent topics and then take notes. You just need to write down and memorize the things he says. If you do that you will get an A! Had 3 tests and one paper on P.A.S. (3 1/2 pages). Professor Wineberg like to mess around with people, so don't take it too seriously. He is just trying to make you a better thinker.

True story, this guy is tough. I got an A, and worked for it. However, he says the first day, "Come to class, take the notes exactly on what I list, study that, you'll be fine." And he was right. Highlight exactly what he lays out, study that, you're fine. Classes are long, and awful. He totally loves messing with folks... but, it's doable.

I have never had the urge to leave a rate for a professor until taking this course. I get mostly A's and I work for my grades. This guy is unrelatable and harsh towards his students. "There is no such thing as a perfect paper" is his motto meaning you'll never get full credit for one. He's closed minded and unclear in what he expects from you.

This guy should not be allowed to give grades. I am a good student, I participated, and still didn't do well. He grades with a bias. He doesn't give clear directions for assignments yet he grades very harshly. I did not learn one thing in this class, waste of money and time. All he wants to do is raise debate on things that do not relate.

A-student here with good work ethic.Got B+, although I believe I deserved an A. Gives you grades, but does not give you a rubric to go by or let you know in print where you got points off. Easy B, but hard A-also he grades based on discretion. Met him 4 office hours, his statement on his grading wasn't credible.STRIVING for an A? Don't take him!!!

Initially I was excited for the class but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. You literally just talk about current events. He doesn't give you a guideline for your papers yet he grades them very harshly. He's funny but not a good professor. Learned basically nothing from him.

Very entertaining professor, and NOT a hard class AT ALL. He takes attendance daily though, and does expect class participation, but any discussion in his class goes. The presentation required isn't tough and the papers aren't hard. Hilarious guy. I would 100% recommend him.

took him for deviant behavior. takes a few days to get used to his style, but is a funny guy. tells stories and plays devil's advocate. likes students to talk in class. must make a presentation, but otherwise is not much work

Awful teacher. Very opinionated though claims not to be. Half the class is a 'group discussion' about current events which is stupid cause it's still a large lecture class and then grades you on participation. The other half is him reading from the book. He tells you exactly what to study and exams seem easy but you still do bad on them.

One of THE WORST professors in public education. Universally hated by all(unless you're a freshman and haven't had the luxury of comparing him to other amazing professors). Even a person with low expectations for him/herself will notice something wrong here. His lectures do not match the material in the textbook. AVOID! He teaches at WPU as well.

Comment:

Took Wineberg for Race Relations. Got a B, but he is an ATROCIOUS Professor. Not nice or approachable, always thinks hes right, and bashes u if he disagrees. He tells u to just highlight in the book what he says which sounds easy, but that equals about 12 pages of notes on Microsoft Word to study each exam. Heard hes easier for his other classes.
