A really nice prof. I didn't even show up for most of his classes and got an A+. But his lecture was really nice, if you write down what he writes on the board then an easy A+. None of his words are useless.

Comment:

This is one of the worst profs I've ever had. I am a fluent English speaker. Zhang.. is really hard on the English. The way he explains stuff is terrible and you practically have to teach yourself. For homework he makes you do textbook questions that will take up 10-20 pages of paper which in my opinion is such a waste of resources.

Comment:

He is very helpful, willing to answer any of your question in/after class . The assignments, mid-term and final are long but rewarding. He knows that has a heavy accent and tries to explain things in a clear and short way. This turns difficult concepts to easy topics. Nice prof!

Comment:

Don't know how he is giving the final grades. Teaching style and accent is also not good. Not giving weekly assignments. The only good thing is that he gives good project (but he does't give detailed explanation of project in the class) from which one can learn many things.

Comment:

Algorithms can be one of the hardest courses to take, but with Zhang it's an easy pass as long as you go to class and pay attention. Very clear on what he expects from you, and will tell you straight up what will be on tests. He's also pretty funny sometimes and is very nice overall!

Comment:

Huaji is great for Algorithm Design and Analysis. He is clear about what he wants from his students, and is very reasonable for questions that you can't necessarily answer fully. Easy money!

Let me start by saying CS3383 is not an easy class with any Prof. Zhang does extremely well at teaching this course. He explains things clearly with good examples. He is very enthusiastic and gives you tips for tests if you attend class. Assignments are long but he gives you a good 2 weeks to do them. Very approchable if help is needed.

I really enjoyed they way he taught. He was really good at explaining difficult concepts, and really enthusiastic about the subject. He really knows what he is talking about. His assignments can be long and difficult, but the midterm was fairly easy. He gave us fair warning the exam would be hard, and indeed it was, but I still managed to do well.

First half of the course was okay, second half was awful. Provides poor algorithm examples and does not explain them fully (didn't provide examples in some cases). This makes doing the assignments almost impossible, and the marking was extremely strict. It can also be very hard to understand what he's saying.

Not a bad prof, get ready to work your ass off though. Assignments are really hard, and his final was ridiculously hard, the hardest one to date. Interacts with the class and an all around nice guy, learned a lot. Hes easy to approach. If you are motivated and willing to work hard, you'll do fine.
