Dr. Lobo's class is not hard to get an A in, pay attention in lecture and keep up with the studying and you'll be fine. Go to her office hours if you are needing help, very helpful one on one.

Lobo is definitely seen as one of the hardest business profs at BenU. I agree shes tough but if you go in to her office and ask for help, she will gladly take time and explain everything to you. Shes not as bad as everyone makes her out to be. Btw i got a Ds and Bs on my exams and i passed with a B so youll be fine AS LONG AS YOU GO IN FOR HELP

All I have to say is "Good luck" She is super tough, she does care a lot about her students, always offers extra office hours but that still doesn't cut it. She expects you to be an economist right away, and her tests are extremely difficult.

Do everything in your power to avoid this professor. She does not teach at all. I'm extremely surprised that there are any decent ratings at all. With the number of students who have to drop out and retake courses because of her, it seems like she enjoys failing students. There are usually about 5 left at the end of each term. Honestly, don't do it.

Dr. Lobo's courses are pretty difficult, but if you ask for help she will help unitl you get it, but make sure you ask early. There are really only grades from test, quizzes, and homework. It takes a lot of effort to do well in her classes and you must be willing to teach a lot on your own.

Comment:
Dr. Lobo's classes are tough. Economics is a difficult subject to grasp in general, but as long as you follow her handouts and go to the review sessions before the test, you should do okay in her class. You really need the study guide that comes with the book more than the book itself, it was really expensive, so I rented it from the library.

Awesome professor who knows what she is talking about. You definitely learn more than what you expect out of a 100 level class but worth it if you study.

It's probably because they don't read the notes and supplementary material that they do so bad. I noticed that people expect to learn the gist of a chapter from just one or two lectures. Wrong! If you're taking Dr. Lobo for any class, it should be expected of you to study and constantly review the notes. If you do that, her classes are Easy As.

Not a bad teacher overall, but tests are ridiculous, expected to know every detail of every lecture. Easy to get a B, hard to get an A

Dr. Lobo wants you to work for your grade and doesn't just hand out A's. If you go to class, study hard, and ask for help when you need it, you'll be fine.

Do not take her. She knows a ton about economics, but she's not easy to understand due to her accent. However, the real reason to not take her class is because she gives hard tests does little to help you prepare for them. These tests also make up 90% of your total grade. If you do take her, don't buy the textbook. It's never used.

She is a wonderful person, but not a good teacher. Her lectures were hard to follow and she did not know how to explain the material that well. I would recommend taking another teacher or taking this class at a community college.

Professor Lobo will not hand you an A. She will challenge you and expects that you show that you have worked to grasp the concepts. That is what a college professor is supposed to do. She can be unclear, but if you ask her to explain herself, she will gladly do it 1000 times until you get the material. She is a wonderful, caring professor.

Dr. Lobo is a very nice lady. Although she is clearly knowledgeable she is not a good teacher. She can only teach you a topic in two different ways. A good teacher can teach you a topic in various ways so that a student can understand. Although there is not much homework involved you have to study every single day! Her test are confusing.

She knows her stuff, that is undeniable, but she expects you to be experts too. Her tests are nearly impossible and she wants a 5 page paper. In class you look down for one second and the whole board is filled with notes, you just can't keep up and she is strict! Of 30 some students, 5 were left: 2 passing, 3 still failing.

I had this professor and decided to drop the course because she was confrontational, not helpful, not clear, and would tell you in front of others that you are a poor test taker, and other would see your grades. Instead of helping you she made you feel that you couldnt approach her.

DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE NOT AN ECON MAJOR. Tests were extremely difficult and that was a 88% of your grade. PLus you had to write a paper. She reallys knows her stuff. Very condescending. I was one of last 7 out of 20 students that remained in her class :(
