He really makes it fun to go to class, which you should go because he doesn't put the notes on Blackboard at all. His assignments were easy and he was extremely helpful when you needed to ask him a question about readings.

I would hands down take ANY class being taught by Prof Snead. He is eccentric and fun, and LOVES what he teaches. The reading level is a bit lengthy, but they aren't boring. He is also a fair grader. He wants everyone to be as interested as he is in the topics.

A little scatter brained because he commutes from LA to DC but is very friendly and personable. Focus on his syllabus and take notes during lecture.

I transferred to GMU last semester, and out of both of my schools, he is by FAR the best professor I have ever had. Really interesting stories, and very funny. Never a boring moment!!! I actually retained the stuff he talked about because he made it interesting.

Snead is the absolute best Professor at Mason. I'm not an anthropology major or minor, but have taken every class Snead taught because he is that good. If you like interesting subjects with a very entertaining prof, than Snead's classes are for you!!

Prof. Snead is the best teacher I have had at Mason! I have taken every class he has taught. I am an anthro major, however, even if I were not I would STILL have taken all of his classes. I learned so much about arch. He is also fair and treats us like adults. He is a bit of a picky grader, but his classes are so with it!

Rockin' subject material. Let's hear it for sacrifice and war! Okay, anyway. Follow his instructions, do the reading, take good notes & you'll do fine. Pretty good grader on papers...can be finicky about little things from time to time. My only other arch class was 101 but I did just dandy. His PP presentations have good pictures - bring popcorn.

I had twp classes with him, the intro level class was kind of hard, but really interesting. Snead is a funny teacher with makes it worth while to go to class. The other class I had was 420 which the topics were harder but it was easier to get a good grade because there was no testing, it was a couple of papers, on almost any topic.

I've had 2 classes with Snead so far, and am signed up for 2 more next semester. Of course I'm rather biased as I love the material, but I think that Snead would make the material interesting even if you weren't an archaeolgy geek.

Took this class as a non-anthro major and found it relatively easy to transition. Some of the more technical stuff I had to ask about, but he was always happy to elaborate. Fair grader on papers, of which there are several. Snead really seems to appreciate people who are willing to add to class discussion. This isn't an easy class, but it's cool.
