JUST DON'T DO IT! Got a B in the class, but I'm an A student and a B is just bad considering I never missed class. He also changed the test format. They are NOT essay.. they are 100 questions and have 3 book reviews. Doesn't use powerpoints, he just talks. Doesn't tell you what's on tests. HORRIBLE TESTS! Curves tests because everyone fails so bad!

Dr. Thompson knows his stuff and is clearly passionate about history. This class consists of daily lectures, 3 book reviews, and 3 long answeressay tests. If you miss many classes, you will find it difficult to pass the tests, because you won't know what the professor considers most important from the material. Enjoyable teacher.

It looks like I did not care for Dr. Thompson but that is not true. He is a straight lecture professor, he talks fast, and he spells even faster (He does not write on the board, so everything is spelled out loud). Grade includes 3 exams & 3 book reviews. Bonus points for participation on book review day, and for attendance (not mandatory).

Dr. Thompson talks really fast and spells words even faster. It is hard to take good notes because of how fast he talks. He doesn't use powerpoints or write on the board. there are a lot of book reviews and the test are essay form.

He's awesome ! i only made B- in my test but came to class regularly ( not mandatory but extra-credit) and did well in book review (A-). He gives chance to get extra-credit (speaking about the book in the class.) i did all this and in spite of me not doing well in tests I got an A !!

He has got to be the best professor in the department!! He is very clear in what he expects and makes the material interesting. I have taken him for 3 separate classes and just adore him. Plus the fact that he looks like Col. Sanders is great!!!

Lectures the whole time! Tests are pretty hard but gives big curves!! on my first test i got 62/100 right and he curved it ut to a B! and if you participate in class discussions over book reviews then he will bring your final grade up a whole letter grade!!

He's nice. It's not really a hard class. He talks A LOT!!!! Take GOOD notes and read the chapters because the tests are not easy. You should be able to make AT LEAST a "C".

He looks like Colnel Sanders, but as soon as you get passed that, this guy really knows his stuff. Classes are purely lecture, and he talks a LOT, but if you take good notes and study them, you'll have a very good idea of the historical timeline on which events happened. The tests were challenging, but worth the experience.

Took him for issues/world cultures since 1660, and really enjoyed his class. He knows his subject and is very thorough in his lectures. You will have to write the whole hour, but his tests are fair, and he offers extra credit for class participation

All he does is lecture so if you have him at 8am class better get some sleep the night before. Tests are pretty hard but he curves and gives you an chance to earn 10 extra credit points on your final grade. Three book reviews arent hard i didnt read any of the book and made an a- on them all.

good teacher! i would definately take this class again- he lectures every day and you just take notes- not a lot of interaction. he grades relatively easy on book reviews. tests are 100 question multiple choice, and often difficult but sometimes gives good curves.

Great teacher! Tests are hard if you don't take notes on what he says. When he repeats something, it WILL be on the test. He's interested in what he teaches, and enjoys teaching. Funny guy if you ever talk to him outside class.

Hard tests. Take good notes and read the chapters. You also have to read 3 books and write papers on them. He does give plenty of chances to get extra credit. For example, if you turn your paper in early, it can change it a letter grade(from b+ to a)
