I dislike this man for more than one reason. Disrespectful and rude towards students. He will tear you a new one for not showing up but then wont show up for WEEKS AT A TIME without any heads up. Had tenure and doesnt mind abusing the privileges that come along with it! There has never been a professor I have disliked more than him.

Best professor I've ever had. Demanding, but exceedingly fair. I learned more in this class about how the world works than in any other at Coastal.

Bad at lecturing, he knows the material but doesn't know how to teach it. Doesn't take any excuses regardless of whether you can help the situation or not. Not a nice person in or out of class. Is a very rude person and I wouldn't recommend.

Riley's classes are very challenging. He is a tough professor, but he's fair. Go to class, take notes, read the reading assignments, do your paper ahead of time (he'll actually review them and give you feedback), and study for those exams like you life depends on it.

A fantastic resource with commanding knowledge of the subject matter. Sure, he's not easy, but college isn't supposed to be easy. He's abundantly clear with what he expects and how things are graded. Yes, you should expect to read, but anything worth knowing mandates this, ab initio. Are you soft? Don't take his class. You'll fail, deservedly.

Where do I start? Riley was unhelpful, unclear, and completely insulting. When you don't do as he wants (when he wasn't clear about it to be begin with), he'll verbally berate you through comments on papers . Many people dropped the class and those who stuck it out feared for their GPA's until the bitter end. HIs grading was very inconsistent.

Has to be the hardest professor in the Political Science Department. He gives you hundreds of pages to read and all of his lectures gain you nothing. When you have trouble understanding something don't expect help. The only way to study for his tests is by memorizing the book. He definitely knows the subject, but struggles teaching.

I was fortunate to take him my final semester of college several years ago. It's definitely not an easy class but if you pay attention, take notes, read the material and study hard, you can pass. He is a fair professor unlike Peterson and much more likable and willing to help. I worked HARD and got an A so if you work hard, a good grade IS possible

Very hard teacher however is very knowledgeable of the topics. I take Constitional Law and couldn't be more pleased with him as a professor. Test are hard but the objective of college is to learn, so study and learn!

Professor Riley is really good at teaching this course and is very passionate about it. His class can be difficult, but as long as you read the book and study you will do fine! Also his quizzes are online and you get to use your book which will help you a lot! Bring book to class everyday. He is a great professor

I had this professor for my basic Political Science requirement and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone who isn't majoring in Political Science. Normally I'm a good student but his class was extremely hard for me. The online quizzes hindered my grades and his tests are nearly impossible to do well on. If Pol. Sci. isn't your major don't take him.

I LOVE Professor Riley! His classes are lecture based, and he expects you to come to class prepared. He is an awesome teacher, well spoken, and expects you to engage in class as well. His quizzes and tests are both hard, but if you prepare, you will do well. LOVE HIM!

Dr. Riley is by far the hardest professor I have had so far at Coastal. The only grades for our class were based on papers but every paper is covered in red ink upon being returned. He is terribly strict about his paper guidelines. He claims to be willing to help but isn't very helpful. Avoid his class if possible.

Okay, so people whining about Jack's attitude...get over it. Talk to him about Guiness and the Red Sox. I was talking to a friend during class and he called me out; I repeated (verbatim) everything he said while I was talking. He's sassy, so you be sassy. Just chill, do your work, and quit whining.
