Comment:

One of my favorite professors at Chapman! FFC100 was such a cool class to take from Prof. Nehring, he really respected all his students & valued what we had to say during our in class discussions. If you're interested in theatre or not, this is a really fun class to take and it helps expand your perspectives and prepare you for future courses.

Comment:

I am a business major so having a theater professor for my FFC course shook me up a little bit, but I settled in after a little while. Nehring is super lively and genuinely cares about everyone in the class. He loves it if people engage in the discussions. He assigns work very frequently (usually short papers) that are easy but still take up time.

Comment:

If you are serious about acting, he will supply you with the advice, support, and feedback you need to not only excel in the class, but grow your talent. Very blunt, but also very human and down-to-earth. Expects you to do the work to grow yourself with the tools he gives. Difficult, but so rewarding. Also a great person to talk to outside too.

Nehring is amazing, no questions asked. He's the best acting professor at Chapman. He has an amazing ability of making you feel incredibly talented but he also pushes you to do better. He makes sure you're never slacking. Take his class seriously and you'll love it!

I enjoyed his theory classes more than the acting classes - mainly because the man is absolutely brilliant and listening to him for three hours is, as others have stated, inspiring. He's the reason I became a professor.

Nehring is ridiculous! But he's also a nice guy. He can be very intense and in your face, so don't bull sh** or he will call you out on it. If you just try your best and come into his class ready to learn and be attentive, you'll do great. And "keep a sweetie in your mouth," like he always says... LOOK LIKE YOU'RE INTERESTED & PAYING ATTENTION!

Such a great teacher! He really loves theatre and he loves working with people who are as passionate as he is. If you love theatre he is simply one of the best teachers. Listen carefully in class because every word in gold and he will give you some great tools.

i went to london with him and i have to say i have never met a teacher, besides ezell, who could be so fun and charismatic. he's a hoot. he can totally tell you're full of**** and he'll announce it. i loved being in his class and if i could i'd take more with him.

Quite a character, a great mentor, coach, counselor, and a good friend to have outside the classroom. He challenges his students, but amazing things happen in his classes for that reason. He has the ability to transform people. And although his classes are intense, they're also fun!

He keeps you on your toes and will not let you get away with anyting crappy or below your level. My favorite teacher and an excellent instructor. He draws the best out of his students and I have seen some amazing things happen in his classroom.

Prof. Nehring is deffinatly a character. But for all theatre majors he is unavoidable bcuz he teaches voice and movement. At first i didnt really enjoy the class but now i see that everything he does is to make us better actors, definatly a fun teacher
