Dr. Kegley is one of the best examples of a professor who wants her students to succeed. She is an absolute DREAM in class, funny, knowledgeable and thought-provoking. There are many class and group discussions, so its relatively easy to work through these lofty philosophical ideas with the help of your classmates and Dr. Kegley herself.

Dr. Kegley is a great professor, she wants you to succeed and is passionate about the subject during lecture. There is a lot of reading and writing that goes with the course, but for me, it was really thought-provoking. The work is really easy as long as you think. Follows the syllabus. Best professor I have had.

Many in-class discussions. Small readings outside class, reading questions, and reflections for every reading. Very caring woman who will work with you to make sure you are not only excelling in her class but your other classes too.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! She truly cares about each and every student and wants everyone to succeed. Sticks to the syllabus and gives a lot of extra credit. The work is not hard, just makes you think. Great lecturer, helps guide class discussions even when no one wants to speak, and overall makes every class fun.

The community service course is a great way to receive credit while volunteering! The "Soul of a Citizen" was an easy read and the reflection paper was not difficult to write.

Dr. Kegley is honestly an AMAZING professor. She's caring on a personal level, and is always happy to accept late work. I couldn't ask for a better Philosophy professor. She tries to get the whole class involved in critical thinking, and even though most of the class refuses, she is relentless in getting her students to think about the class!

Had her for race, gender, class and sexuality this fall. She is an awesome professor. She is passionate and you can't help but just like her. You can never be mad or upset with her. She is like the grandmother you always wanted. She cares and knows you by name. She will notice if you're not in class.

She's an awesome teacher who really cares about her students. Her lectures are interactive and open to all kinds of opinions. The work is easy- some reading questions about once per week (I always did them in class) and a midterm/final paper due. She gives assignments well in advance and is always reachable outside of class. Would take her again!

Probably the best professor at CSUB. She kept to her syllabus, the grading was clear, and she understood and taught the subject well. She was very accessible and runs the Honors Program. The only problem is that you basically have to write a paper every class session

Professor Kegley is a pretty good professor of Philosophy. She is very good at explaining in depth her subject and her grading criteria is clear. However, there is difficulty with her explanations and what she expects of students. When she asked questions of the class, the same students answered the questions, and no one else had a chance to answer

There was quite a bit of writing for reflections, reading question assignments, as well as her midterm and final. Unfortunately, she is a tough grader and is not clear about how she grades work. However, she encourages students to discuss topics with one another and use philosophical thinking in certain scenarios. She made philosophy interesting.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!! I grantee it will be a waste of your time! She managed to take an interesting topic like race and make it boring! She gives too many useless assignments that take a lot of time when you could be doing work for other classes that actually matter! Her syllabus is unclear, shes scatterbrained and unorganized!

I loved her class. You seriously have to be super lazy to not pass this class. She is super nice and open minded. The homework is answering reading questions and the final and mid term are both take home. She is not strict and she will accomidate your needs if you talk to her. There are a lot of reading questions. But this is college. Get over it.

Her midterms make don't make much sense. She hands us a page with various questions and expects us to know everything when the material was BARELY talked about. If you're interested in the class she'd be amazing for you but if you're just taking it to meet general ed requirements, this class could be difficult for you like it is for me.

She is a teacher with an ego. Meaning she refrains from giving A's. I feel as though she believed a papers were rare if not impossible. I received between an 89-87 on every essay and when I compared with my peers that was high. So unless you plan on being one the three people to get an a do not take the class!!!!!
