Easy-going, funny and knowledgeable guy. You're graded by 3 papers (or 4 if you choose to do another one) and he allows you to rewrite them any time within the semester. You can also do extra credit to boost your grade. He wants his students to succeed and will do anything he can to help you with your essays. Take him if you want a good WSC class.

Professor Vestigo is like a wise old owl. He always has an anecdote about the good ol' days. He chooses material which relates to his interests and life so he can tell a story about it. He allows for rewrites on all of your essays which you SHOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE OF. He is very liberal with deadlines, but DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS GOOD NATURE.

Take Vestigo, he is fantastic. You write four essays, they're supposed to be at least four pages but he is not too picky, he gives you feedback and allows you to edit for a higher grade. He gives two extra credit assignments as well. He is a great person who cares about his students. As long as you do your work and participate, you'll get an A.

Very approachable and most of the time an interesting class. The only downfall is there is no clear grading criteria. I did all of the papers and rewrote them when given the chance but, it was still hard to understand the grade that was given.

Prof Vestigo is amazing. beginning of each class u have a easy going convo. then do class work which is correcting grammar and punctuation that' never graded.4 papers due 2 1/2-3 pgs. no final. get to leave 15 minute early 95% of the time. tough grader, assignments are not always clear. but revisions allowed on every paper wants students to pass

Took WSC01 with him too. 10/10 would recommend. He assigns 3-4 papers a semester, about 4-5 pages but doesn't penalize for like 3 1/2. He lets you revise any essay you want. 1 extra credit allowed like a presentation involving some aspect of 1930. you only get graded from your essays. He thoroughly comments on essays. Makes me wonder how I did well

This is the second class I've taken with him and I would take a third. You will never stress in his classes. No homework except occasional papers. Basically outlines every paper for you before hand. If you get on his good side he will make your life easy and won't be as tough on grading. Listen to him and you will learn.

He's a bit proud for my tastes, but he's a really funny, knowledgable old man. He's a tough grader, but he provides tons of feedback and an option to revise anything you turn in. If you win his favor, it makes it all the more easy for you. He jumps into these random anecdotes a lot, but you get used to it. I didn't deserve an A, but got one anyway.

Very knowledgeable. Thoroughly comments on paper but still gives great grades. You have the option to revise. Papers are 3-4 pages long. not really sure what we did during class lol. but he helped improve papers. a couple options for extra credit (you get an A factored into the grade automatically if you do 1) like reciting a poem. Great teacher

I love him! Yes, I am an English major but I think other students can appreciate him as a good professor and a nice guy. Barely any homework, no tests or quizzes, we get a lot of short papers (2-3 pages) but he basically outlines them all for you. Let's us leave class early all the time. Told me to go home once when I wasn't feeling good.

He is a very, very hard greater and his essay are very annoying. I personally would not take him again because of the great amount of effort and time that is required for all of his essays. Each essay is revised too, adding more to the workload.

Vestigo's class was a bore to attend. I dreaded it every single day. He is very light on the homework load -- it's a writing class and we only wrote three essays all semester -- but ruins that good image by rambling on about absolutely nothing for hours on end. Entire classes were spent simply listening to him talk. Avoid if you want to learn.

Vestigo is by-far my favorite professor. He actually lets you explore books and short stories instead of pigeon holding you in a mold. He often goes off on tangents that are both informative and entertaining. He is either the craziest teacher or brilliant. I prefer to think of the latter. Take him for WSC1 & 2 and you will pass the proficiency exam
