worst prof ever. missed 6 classes out of 10 and was upset when the sub prof taught us the wrong material? very unclear and expects way too much. NEVER ON TIME. always 10 mins late and not very helpful takes too long to reply to emails. im surprised she even has a job considering how horrible she is.

Comment:

Dr. J Heslop is a wonderful professor! She is helpful, understanding and caring. I just had her for spring 2018. She is approachable, down to earth and gives great advice and feedback on in class essays. Very detailed and descriptive, which comes in handy for the take home essay. Would take her again in the future. Made me a better writer!

Jackie is one of the best professor ever!!! She is super helpful and very approachable. All those who said that she is a really hard marker should check out all the spelling errors in their comments and they will realise that it's not her marking that is getting them low grades. If you want to improve your English, you should definitely choose her!

Jackie is just unbelievable!! I have never seen a prof this bad ever! It was the worst decision to take up her class!! She expects way too much! Such a tough grader, always brings her daughter to the class.. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HER! She doesn't go over the quizzes that we hand in.

Jackie is a very calm teacher who keeps her students engaged. However, she expects way too much and marks hard. She is not available at her office hours and is 10 mins late for class. I wouldn't take her again because she makes you work very hard and doesnt offer the help in exchange.

She is definitely a tough grader, I faced a lot of problems with her during the start of my class, but if you approach her about your problems, she definitely helps you out. Even though, I had to withdraw the class because I didn't get good grades, but still I strongly recommend her!! If you really want to excel in future, you should choose her.

Definitely have to put in the work to get a good grade in this course. Take-home essays are marked a lot harder then the in-class essays, they're also worth a lot more as well. Overall, my writing improved significantly from her marking. End of the day, worth taking her course if you want to improve and aren't scared to get marked hard.

I wouldn't say its a dry class but it can be long. She marks take-home essays a lot harder than in-class essays. MUST know how to properly do MLA format. You'll do a tutorial but knowing how to already is beneficial. She's great help with reviewing and editing essays as long as you take the time to go to her. She won't just assume you need help.

I was reading the textbook at first, until I realized there was no need for it. Jackie is really helpful and likes to discuss ideas. Her classes are long sometimes, but overall it is a relatively easy course to pass. She marks way harder on take-home essays, so choose in-class if she gives you the option!

I would never take her again. She is not clear at all! Explains nothing at all. Has no lectures planned for classes just rants about future stuff due and makes no sense or says theres presentations BECAUSE SHES unorganized UHM K! you'll regret taking her! Toughest grader ever... and makes you buy launchpad for crazy $ and uses it twice..

The only reason I gave her a 2 on helpfulness is because her remarks on your essays are good and will teach you more then anything in her actual class will. Never hands back previous essays until the next essays are due though. Very feminist and will take up the whole class talking about that and her daughter. Would never recommend her as a prof.

Probably the best prof ive had! Classes were very boring because she just reads out of the textbook, but attendance did count for marks. Overall very helpful, has clear expectations and is a VERY easy marker. English is my worst subject and I got an A!
