You have to work very hard in Dr. Nunes' classes, but it's worth it. She tends to treat introductory courses in the same manner as upper level courses, and expects more of you than is warranted. She does ramble at times, but she has been everywhere and it's kind of awesome. Full disclosure- I was an Art History major and she was my advisor.

Art is my major and I've already taken Art History 1, so I didn't think it would be too bad. She goes on rants constantly and always gives sidebars that have nothing to do with the content. Tests is only 6 questions and you're not sure what info of the thousand things she talks about will be on it! I wouldn't recommend taking this at all!

No sense of how to use technology, can't even e-mail. Extremely unclear and no organizational skills. Requires hours and hours of outside video watching, along with worksheets about the films. Film content is never relevant to overall class material and she's so easily distracted that you won't get through anything, yet you'll be responsible for it

Class is pretty good. She throws alot of information out --your brain may turn to mush. Lectures can be boring, but sometimes its just the subject matter. Da Costa Nunes has amazing style.. better than mine. if I can look like her at that age, I'll be amazed. Great hair. I'm jealous. Tests can be hard. But overall, the class is not bad.

Tests are hard, but fair. Will tell you what's on the test (almost word for word) if you talk to her during office hours. Coming from a student who recieved a C-, she is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Very clear, very helpful, just very challenging subject matter.
