Comment:

He wasn't a bad teacher and always gave examples of the speeches he wanted, however he gives A LOT of book work and has a written final. It's only 4 speeches but a lot of book quizes and written work. He's energetic and enthused about the subject which is nice, but he is a very hard grader and is a stickler for the time limit.

Comment:

Mr. Crowley gives a lot of book work and quizzes, but if you just read the chapter and have common sense, you will do just fine. He is helpful and clear in descriptions, and if you pay attention and practice your speeches, you will get a good grade. Don't take him if you are lazy.

I HATED this class, and I love speaking publicly. He gave HUGE ammounts of useless book work. He is EXTREMLY rude, and will embarrass you infront of the class. He does not tell you when you are doing things incorrectly, he just lets you fail. He is a poor Professor who does not care about his students. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS!!! You have been warned.

I liked him the first day of class, big mistake. He is the WORST professor I have ever taken at Rowan. Spends the majority of class preaching and assigning bookwork, which never ends and leaves you with no time for your actual speeches. And he is a jerk. Almost everyone I know from the class got a C or lower, from a PUBLIC SPEAKING CLASS!avoid..

An extremely nice guy and very helpful. Impossible to get a solid A in the class-he is a difficult grader. Some book work, but not overwhelming. The final and midterm were extremely difficult! I was good at speaking, so i ended with an A-. He makes you feel comfortable and he's very understanding. Definitely take him if you can!!

Avoid this prof. at all costs. He gives so much useless book work and busy work that you don't even have enough time to prepare for your speeches. After working hours on in for your speeches he's the hardest grader ever. He's the worst prof. I've taken at Rowan thus far.

this guy is pompous, gives AMAZING amounts of work that are essentially just busy work, has to take ten extra mins first for his pre-class cig then dramatically orating directions for self-explanatory homework, and is a rough grader after you spend 56 hours agonizing over giving a good speech. take anyone but this man.

Most other teachers of public speaking dont even use the book. This man thinks he is all powerful when in reality he is just ajackass

I goofed off all the time and had no problem! Crowley is a good guy and fun but he talks a lot. Also, this is the only Pub. Speaking course I have ever heard of with book work. That's kinda annoying.

Good guy. If you do the work he assigns you will do fine. He doesn't tolerate people who goof off in his class. As long as you do the homework and prepare for your speeches a little bit you will get a good grade.
