Dont know what everyone is complaining about. He's a good professor. He explains things clearly and exams are OPEN BOOK/OPEN NOTE! I think this is the easiest class at De Anza.

He's highly intelligent, and he demonstrates personal care for each of his students. Sometimes you can ask for help with understanding something, and he doesn't understand your exact difficulty, so he'll just explain the concept in a different way. You need to feel comfortable being assertive at asking questions in class to get the most out of him.

im currently taking him right now horrible horrible teacher. teaches way to fast with out stop to make sure we understand. He is very knowledgeable in the subject but expects the students to be as smart as him and understand what is going on all the time. don't be fooled by the open notes and book for exams and final-- his final was close to impossible- way out of order to the point where you did not know where to begin or which formulas to apply! his exams were a piece of cake compared to the final. he grades so harshly on his labs and hw-- DETAILS!! you'll lose points on just about everything!

Comment:

Pretty hard teacher when it comes to grading and tests. If you have no other choice, take him. But, beware, do the assignments and highly recommended studying in groups. Gives out take home quizzes (which helps). Lectures are pretty darn clear, but hard to get. SMILES to get out of explaining some stuff and uses the word "arbitrarily" way too much

He sucks, the worst teacher I ever met in life. Picky at grading. Taking points off unreasonably and arbitrarily. On top of that, 95% for an A. If you want to get an easy B and learn nothing, take it!

He is an idiot. He annoys me. He does not understand my questions and castrates my rebuttals before I am able to properly explain them to him. He knows the material well from his experience and therefore is not useless, entirely.

He is a nice teacher and knows the material very well. HIs grading is very clear, just 4 tests and 5 out of 7 quizzes. You can get up to B or A-, but very difficult to get A (95%). If you are not good at math, you will feel he is a awful teacher.

Very boring professor. He knows his stuff though but I bet 90% of students have no clue what the class is about. Goes very fast through the lectures. Take notes of everything. Open notes and book is not bad but not very helpful since he is a hard grader. Skip a step in a problem you'll get the problem wrong even if you got the right answer. BEWARE!

He is ok.If you have no better choice - take him. Goes REALLY fast in class, but if you go to every class, take good notes, and do CD probs and his probs you will do ok. MUST go to reviews for tests, they are exactly like tests. Open book/notes tests, no quizzes, no hw. Not too bad. I had no idea what the whole class was about, got a B.
