Janell seems tough but she is actually very caring and gives good feedback, if you ask. Her class is demanding though. Be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort, but it'll make you a good designer for sure.

Comment:

Her class is difficult, but you'll become a better designer because of it. I went in with absolutely no InDesign experience and came out using the program for everything. Although she has tough opinions, it allows you to be more critical of your work, and ultimately gives you the confidence to add this program to your resume.

The class is fun and you learn a lot. And Janell is very easy to get along with and offers great suggestions. She doesn't give out A's though, so beware. I got an A on almost every assignment but somehow ended up with a B in the class...?

This is a very worthwhile class (plus it's required if your a PRA major). Janell is a very knowledgable professor, but she is very picky. She knows what she wants, regardless of whether she makes it clear or not. Pander to her and you'll do great.

Comment:

Janell's an interesting teacher. She's open to creativity but if you make her something she doesn't like, she's not afraid to show you you're wrong. To do well you need to communicate with her. She can offer a great deal of help. Take her up on it because it can get you that B.

She hardly ever gives A's, her instructrions are very ambiguous and her grading is very inconsistent. She thinks she knows everthing and talks down to the class. She has her favorites and if you aren't one of them, watch out.

Janell is a great teacher. It can be a little difficult to get an 'A' on some assignments, but you definitely remember everything that you discuss and learn in her class. She's fun. Very friendly.
