Reg State was a terrible course but she made an effort for it to be participatory, which is more than can be said for most profs. Lots of guest lecturers, presentations, etc. Very hard to get hold of b/c she's crazy busy. Lecture style a bit scattered. Nice in person.

Can't speak for her other classes but her insolvency class was the most intelligently designed learning process I've experienced at UBC law. This subject is her forte and it shows. Insolvency is complicated and she won't coddle you but, if you put in some effort, you WILL learn (and may even enjoy it).

The worst prof and people i've ever had to deal with. Played favourites openly. Should not be permitted to have any contact with students. Would be a good move for faculty to fire her and replace all corps profs.

Comment:

Brilliance may be a good attribute for researchers, but it doesn't cut it when it comes to teaching. We pay big bucks for profs to devote time and effort to their students. Profs need to show some committment to teaching and Sarra does not show it.

Cancelled many classes. Unavailable - few office hrs; doesnt respond to emails from students. Plays favourites. No useful lectures- didnt learn anything (like teaching yourself).

In 1st class, told us her hubby would help teach. Only taught a few times though her name was on course. Very unclear. Assumes class has business background. Very poor communication with other prof. Might have insight, but wasn't around to share it.
