Comment:

Class isn't bad. Not the easiest A but easy with a little effort. Discussions every week which aren't fun, quiz for each lesson, midterm & final exam with multiple choice & short answer & then a paper at the end. You never really hear from Prof Brooks, its a self paced course. Good class to take for GH & IL. Don't buy the books, sparknotes will wrk

Comment:

Took as an elective for my senior year. It's actually pretty interesting, but I honestly don't have the time or patience to read everything every week. Easy quizzes and exams. Everything is online. Only pain is the weekly discussion. It's not hard, just gets super dry and boring after the first few weeks.

Comment:

I really loved professor brooks. I took his online class, but the way he was so engaged in the material made me interested in the topic even though i was just taking this curse for a gen ed. Its definitely not necessary to do the readings, spark notes will do just fine. The quizzes and tests are pretty fair and straightforward.

Comment:

Jason was absolutely awesome. He's so into the material and the lectures are wonderfully done. There aren't many grades, but if you're consistent he is super understanding with grades. 100% recommend taking this class with him.

Comment:

Jason is very knowledgeable, cares about the quality of the course. All quizzes/exams are very easy, and the paper just needs some feedback, which he is ready to give. Weekly discussions are boring because no one ever has anything to write, except being a woman in ancient times, but its a minor nuisance.

Completely self paced and extremely minimal communication. Good luck if you need help and ask him a question because you'll never get an answer. Lectures and readings were time consuming but the recorded lectures were entertaining and informative.

Comment:

Treats other adults as if they are middle school children. It takes days to receive correspondence in reply to a question. None of this would matter if he wasn't so pretentious and condescending. I would not reccommend this professor to anyone who did not have to take this class.

I took this class online. It was hugely self-paced: 5 quizzes, 2 exams, a paper, and a weekly message board. Lectures were recorded audio/PPT but I just read the transcripts which were also available. There were a ton of online readings which were often tricky, but Jason did a great job of explaining them in the lectures. Take CAMS045 with Jason!

I went into this class not having much interest. I came out of this class wanting to minor in CAMS. Jason kept me interested in the way he lectures. The questions on the quizzes/exams are tricky, but come on guys this isn't a high school class. This is a gen ed class and he knows this so he makes it as fun and exciting as possible.

This class is not an easy A. Although its online, you have to devote ALOT of time into it if you want to succeed. Quizzes and exams are very tricky and you really need to do all readings and lectures to understand material. Discussion board, midterm, final, 1 paper, and quizzes determine grade.It was interesting, but a very intense workload.

I have no idea how this guy is getting such great reviews. I took this class online, and it was one of my least favorite classes at Penn State. The material is alright, but his tests and quizzes are extremely tricky. Its not easy to get an A. I think he needs to be more straightforward, especially since it is just a gen ed class. Avoid if possible.

Took it on the web. The class is fairly easy, and Jason does a great job at making it easy for you. There is a lot of reading but if you're smart you can get through the whole class without reading anything and still get an A. One downside was mandatory discussion boards, 90% of my class whined about women's rights and religion every week.

I did not know too much about the subject matter at the beginning of this course, but by the end of it I became highly interested. Jason is a great teacher, and his lectures are well done. I wouldnt call this course an easy A, but I became so interested in the subject matter that it just happened.

Awesome teacher, easy class. Took it over the summer online and it was a good summer class, I didn't even mind reading the stuff when I was on vacation. The myths are interesting as is and his lectures online are very good and informative, especially with his voice recordings. Weekly discussion board is easy and he grades papers fairly.

This class was online over the summer, super easy but fairly time consuming. Keep up on the lectures or you'll want to drop the course. Jason is friendly and tries to keep the class fun. Overall pretty good gen ed.

Great teacher, nice guy. He makes the information fun and does a great job engaging the class. He's one of the best teachers I've had at Penn State. He's not bad to look at either.
