Comment:

Great teacher, lectures are boring but cover everything that is on the test, has a heavy accent but is easy to get used to, can be disrespectful in a 'joking' way. Just look up quizlets on the chapters and you will be set. I do not recomend buying the books. Very easy if you study the terms, spikes test too.

Comment:

He is such a wonderful teacher and he can be funny too. I took him in Fall 2018. What he talks about engages discussion and he likes people to engage in discussion a lot. The notes he gives are what will be on the test and hell review what will be on there as well. Very straightforward and knowledgeable. Loved him as a teacher.

Dr. Nwanko is my favorite professor at Fitchburg State. He lectures for most of the class, but he makes it fun. There are 4 tests and a presentation and that is all you're graded on. He literally gives you the test questions a week before the test. I He's a funny guy who cares about his students progress.

He is an extremely intelligent professor who loves Soc! He didn't give any homework, there was only 4 exams you were graded on, plus a project that was a nightmare. No extra credit! If you don't show up at all you definitely won't pass since he teaches you everything in lecture. He is sometimes hard to understand but you get use to it.

Student beware! He talks down to his student when they ask a question, he does not respond well to E-Mails (Sometimes over a week later). Nice enough guy I guess but not a good teacher

This course was an easy A. As long as you take notes of what he says in lecture and look them over, you're golden on the exams. He assigned no homework besides a small paper/presentation. His accent makes it a little harder to understand what he is saying but it is surely possible. He is helpful and clear with what he expects of you.

Comment:

A little tough to understand the accent, but as long as you participated a little in class you were good. There were only 4 tests, no finals or midterms and 1 group project and like 2 small easy to write papers. Sometimes a few questions on the test were a little confusing but they weren't too bad. Don't skip or leave early!

Nwankwo is a very reasonable professor and it frustrates me when students say otherwise. His lectures are interesting enough and he draws great, funny examples that students can relate to. If you pay attention during class and read the textbook, you should get an A no problem. Also, his accent is not a big deal. I had no trouble understanding him.

He is extremely funny and entertaining. Somewhat hard to understand because english is not his first language. I learned nothing in his class. I didn't open the book once so don't bother buying it. Don't take if you're actually interested in Soc and want to learn something. If you're looking for an easy elective, this may be for you.

Very ineffective professor. There isn't a single thing that he teaches that I can't teach myself from the internet, for free. His exams are simply regurgitating information and filling up the exam book. The more you write (whether you're repeating yourself or not), the better your grade will be. If you want to be challenged, he's not your guy.

Definitely learned a lot from his class. He can be a little hard to understand since English isn't his first language but I enjoyed the class. A nice guy, punctual, laid back with much enthusiasm for the course material. Taking a class next semester with him and I look forward to it.

I love Nwankwo, he is a great professor. If you take good notes, you will do great on his exams. He is very clear in what he wants for his classes and if you dont understand something, just open your mouth and ask, that simple. I would take him over and over. Im a sociology major and have taken all of his sociology classes and pass with3.7or4.0

A good man who brings a different perspective to the FSU classroom since he grew up in Africa. A fair grader, he can tell when you put a lot of effort into your work and will grade accordingly. His classes are very good when students choose to participate and he doesn't like it when you sit in the back of the class opinionless.

Dont buy the txtbooks. waste of money he never opens it. hard to understand. questions/comments are laughed at sarcastically or just ignored. 3 tests and 1 project pretty much make your grade. i didn't really learn anything. he allows laptops though. so that passed the time....

Prof. Nwankwo is a great guy. He used real life situations to get the point across. He was funny and wanted us to learn. We didn't need to book so that made me mad because it was expensive and he said we were going to use it!!
