This class was so boring. The only good thing about it was that I made some friends and didn't have to work very hard. Hern's voice is extremely low, so if you're not sitting in the front row, you can even hear him. Didn't learn anything in his class, but good for beginners who are lazy. Don't bother buying the book. Very easy grading.

Ok so he's hard to understand and if you need help you have to go to your fellow students. But on the plus side I feel I got alot out of this class it really opened me up and it was my favorite class. He's very nice.

Oldest man I've seen in my life! His voice is pretty much gone and so is his ability to teach(if he ever had one). You won't learn anything in the class, it's bad if you wanna go on to 2B.

This class was completely useless. Class time was wasted. Professor was rude, disrespectful, disorganized. One-acts were fun, but putting up with the class long enough to get to them was a pain. Students made more effecient use of time when he was not in class. Avoid Hern at all costs.

Hern is like the last vistage of a forgotten Golden Age at PCC (PJC back in his day)... he's that old. We thought he mightve bit the big one one day when he failed to show. Class itself was very relaxed and consisted of a lot of socializing, but I would expect nothing less in a Acting Fundamentals class. Good class to take over winter or summer

LOL!! I just went to school to sit there all day and listen to him talk!! I could barely hear him to. He usually lets us out early but when he makes us stay the whole last 30 minutes it drove me insane! Really nice but booorinnng teacher!

He is really old, he is a really nice person and easy grader. You won't learn alot from his class, you can barely hear him talking if sit little further. Repeat the same stuff over and over again. Not really helpful but shares some of his life experience with student. If you want to learn something , stay away with this class. for good grade, yes.

i used to love theatre but this class ruined it for me. he's too old and everyone just messes around in his class, it was very distracting and he didnt notice. i didnt learn much at all and it was very boring. it was hard to take it seriously because no one else did and my partners were very lazy because of it and i got a B.

ok for starters, hella easy A. only problem is the man has to be in his late 500's. if your trying to learn something from speech you'll realize he didnt help when you wake up at the end of the class.one time he actually was falling asleep during someones speech. all in all hes not a bad guy, just needed to retire before the school was built.

Hern is a very nice teacher. He will allow you to get away with late assignments and even allow a few tardies. However, his age is catching up and the pace of the class is a little slow. If you have NO previous experience in theater arts, this class is fine. If you do, take another professor.
