He wants everyone to pass so he gives you as many opportunities to pass as possible. If you are ever confused in class the textbook follows the lectures pretty clearly so just read it. You can pass without doing the readings though, it just helps if you are stuck. He mainly used the whiteboard to communicate ideas and I would get graph paper.

Jeff is a really great professor. I struggled a bit with micro and I was worried about taking macro but he made it very easy to understand. His lectures are clear signals to what will be on the exam so I suggest showing up. All the material he teaches is relevant and interesting, and he lightens to mood too. Overall I have zero complaints.

Bookwalter was one of my favorite professors! He makes the material interesting and is very clear on his expectations for the class! He goes through examples several times, and makes sure his students are well prepared for the exams! Such a knowledgable and passionate professor!!

Jeff is awesome. I took his Econ 201 class and really enjoyed the subject material presented in class. As for most classed, a little bit of paying attention goes a long way. There is no way a student could say he doesn't explain topics well. He stops and asks every five minutes if anyone has questions. I recommend that everyone use this oppurtunity

Jeff is boring. His class is very boring and hard to pay attention to. His tests are ridiculous. Bad job at teaching. He told good real life facts, but on the other hand those are not on the test.

Jeff's lectures were a lot of fun! He goes through problems and uses local examples that we can relate to. Because of the current events he talks about, attending lecture is necessary because he will ask questions about them on tests. Tests are easy but very short so a couple mistakes will hurt your grade. He has a good sense of humor! Good overall

He's a good teacher, but I'm really glad I had some understanding of economics before taking this class. He jumps around and either you will understand a concept or you won't. This stuff gets confusing so definitely do the homework, it will help your grade and your understanding.

Although he is a very good teacher and provides a lot of support and help, his lectures are all over the place and he is always jumping around. A lot of the time he will start a table and never finish it which complicates your understanding of the subject. DO THE HOMEWORK DO THE HOMEWORK. The homework will save your butt and he drops your lowest!

Great professor. He simplifies examples which helped understanding concepts. Takes questions and explains the concepts, if you don't understand ask him after class or in office. His final was the easiest out of all the other tests so recommend taking all four since lowest one gets dropped. May seem uninterested in students but does care!

Jeff is a great teacher - great at simplifying, has interesting lectures, and provides alternative explanations. His tests will kick your butt, and he goes a little fast for an Intro level, but it's a class worth taking if you have any interest in economics.

I had him for 111 (now it is ECON 201 I believe) back in 2007. What an amazing professor! He really has teaching figured out. I never approached him on a personal level so I can't attest to that side of him, but I can attest that he is BY FAR the best Intro teacher you can get. After having him for Micro, I was darn sure to get him for Macro!

Kindled my interest and later a main reason for my major in econ. Not very accessible or helpful on a personal basis, which was a major disappointment for me. Hilarious, engaging, and exciting as a lecturer. Has a reputation for laziness. True perhaps in some respects, and not in others
