Comment:

Many of the other ratings claim this professor to be extremely difficult, but I disagree. If you review the packets and do the homework questions there is no reason why you can't get a good grade. Yes, Professor Swenson may go off track but it adds some humor to the class. His "anger" is ONLY a direct result of his wanting of us to do well.

Angry, tough grader. Tests are very challenging with little guidance. Test material is covered by homework generally. He frequently complains about life problems, and how that new students are just not what they used to be. Uninspiring poor lecturer

He is the "best" professor in Adelphi. Never take his course. he always complain in class, and give 3 exams. the 2nd exam is one week before final. for this Tuesday you have the 2nd exam, and next Tuesday is final exam. Never take him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great professor who really knows his stuff. As a finance major, it is important to know how to use the formulas, and he tests you on your understanding of the formulas. Homework questions and attendance are not mandatory, but if you show up and do the homework there is no reason why you can't get an A.

Your only grades from this class will come from the 4 tests & your class participation. If you aren't strong in math, find another professor who gives you other grade opportunities. In Swensen's class, you're essentially on your own. He definitely knows his stuff, but his class was beyond difficult.

my favorite prof at SUNY at old westbury in 1980. I learned a lot from him and yes, his personal life was an issue then.I am happy to hear that he is still an educator and has fulfilled his academic career.

He acts like a pain when you ask him a question that's not direct. Q's like "Could you go over bonds" or "can you help me with #2" will not be feasible with him. He doesn't do "reviews" before tests & feels that if you bomb its got to be your fault! Wrong. 1/2 of my class failed the 2nd test and there was no curve. No xtra credit. 3 test = Grade!

He is absolutely clueless about finance. He spends days on simple formulas and has no clue what finance is like in the real world. Brings true meaning to the saying, "If you can't do, then teach." Do not take Swensen if you have any real interest in the subject or you would like to learn anything; waste of your time!

"Hates Baseball, LoOoves Conway." He's a great professor. Yes, he's a snide and insensitive at times. But, he teaches well and thats what matters. Assignments and lectures are straight to the point-correlating to exams. Lots of other raters/students complain about him, but srsly this is college - he won't hold your hand and look both ways for you.
