Carpenter messed up my entire curriculum through this course. I love mathematics, but she was not a very good teacher for it. I have a lot of responsibilities, and going to see her outside of class was not an option. She does NOT teach everything in class. She misses 30% of classes and you're afraid to ask her questions. Would never take again.

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. Office hours are nonexistent and useless. Each class, she just does example problems, very little explanation and very little teaching of concepts. Very disorganized. She's smart, but not a very good teacher. If you know the material, class is a breeze but if you are expecting to learn... good luck.

She is a fantastic teacher who is clearly devoted to making sure that the students understand the material. If you're looking for a sleep through class look somewhere else! She is always willing to help with homework, even if you email her later in the evening and is always happy to help you understand the material.

If you want an A do not take this class. You can have the right answer but if you're work is wrong or you skip steps she will take off a lot of points. Got a C both times I took her but got A's in upper level calculus so clearly it was her.

If you can learn quickly, you will definitely benefit from this class. As a slower learner, I was a bit stressed out. She is very nit-picky on tests and partial credit is rare, but she knows what she's doing! Genuinely cares about her students but is very busy, even in office hours!

Dr. Carpenter, is a very good teacher. She's not easy, but that's mostly because she teaches engineering majors. She will gladly help with any question that you have, although she is a very busy woman. Responds to emails almost immediately. If you want to learn the subject and be good at it, I would recommend taking her class.

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh because I wasn't prepared in high school for the material taught in this course, but Dr. Carpenter is an insanely difficult professor. She is totally willing to help you, but teaches in a way as though her students have PhDs and just need a refresher. Tests are RIDICULOUS. I studied all weekend for her final. 68%

Awesome teacher! Loved how she was always willing to help. In some classes I've felt as if I were never going to understand the material - not with Dr. C. She was always enthusiastic and glad to help me understand. She's also sure to make if known that you can ask questions.

I LOVE HER! She's more than willing to help inside and outside of class! She's great during office hours and she'll also email back and forth quite rapidly. She's a lively teacher and she has many tricks up her sleeves to keep you in-tuned to what she's trying to teach you. If you don't get it, ASK! I would HIGHLY recommend her to everyone!

Amazing professor. I could barely pass the class, but I don't regret taking it. I found her to be incredibly hard, but at the same time, very good. Her tests are hard and you have to work, but I would definitely recommend taking her if you can.

She is an EXTREMELY HARD teacher. I am an honors student, n I made a 34 on my ACT. I didn't pass her class and I studied my butt off. If you do all of the homework n complete ALEKS you might be able to pull out a C. She grades unbelievably hard on her test. I missed 3 problems on a 30 question test n got a 64 because my scratchwork wasnt like hers.
