The lecture was extremely boring. Tests had nit picky information that wasn't always discussed in class. he makes the subject harder than it should be. I do not recommend this teacher.

He is an interesting guy who really knows A LOT about plants and ecology. He is interesting to listen to, but the class is all off of hand written, unorganized handouts. Watch out for mistakes in his handouts and lectures, read the book for general understanding of the topic, but equations he uses are different. Tests can be frustrating.

WARNING. Frustration-confusion-anger- You will experience all of that if you take this class with this man. If he is an option, take someone else. If he is your only option, take the class at another time when there's an alternative. I'm not even joking. After taking that class, the only word that adequately explained how I felt was victimized.

Dr. Basking is quite possibly one of the more intelligent professors you will encounter. HOWEVER, it seems that his knowledge has been surpassed by his age. His inability to teach is astounding. His tests are absurd and it is simply amazing that the University allows the man to remain teaching.

HORRIBLE!!! Do whatever you have to NOT to take this man for ecology!! His lectures are TERRIBLE. He wanders off on tangents where you can barely understand him and teaches you useless information!! His tests and handouts are unbelievably bad! I aggree: AVOID HIM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

Good teacher. He knows his stuff and he gets very excited when he teaches. The quizzes every Friday were pretty easy, as long as you studied the handout from the week before. There were no tests, just 3 or 4 papers. The papers weren't bad, they just required some research. He grades papers harder on grammar than content. Grammar nazi!

It was impossible to study for this man's exams...he liked to hand out these thick packets of bizzare graphs and long equations and make test questions over them. =(

We called him Crazy Baskin. His tests are mostly from lectures, and i think that he forgets what he has and has not told us most of the time. Each test was very hard and had a few questions that weren't addressed in the book or the lecture.
