He is a good teacher but his class is hard and require self-improvement every time. so if you do have his class, do a little worst in the first speech and then improve yourself as you go.

Dr. Zolten is a very nice guy, but extremely cocky. He spent the first three weeks talking about his success, which wasted my time. When taking his class you learn one thing, its either his way or the highway. Dr. Zolten is an extremely difficult grader and allows no room for your own opinions other than that which is blatantly obvious information

Comment:

This man is good at two things: Talking about himself and telling you what you did wrong. Don't even try to bring an idea up to him about your own speech, he'll end up suggesting you change it into something HE wants, while stressing the importance of it being of your own creation. Easy class if you're willing to do that much.

Zolten is basically a music legend and is insanely knowledgeable. The class can be a bit dry if you're not into oldies music. Class was centered on lectures, listening, and lots of video material. He gives you all the notes as well as exam guides. The only grades are exams and attendance, so you have to do well and show up!

Decent, looked like an interesting class, which it is sometimes, but very video-heavy. 3 papers and you tell jokes for your final. That's the whole class. Easy, but boring. Strict on attendance. Interesting and nice guy.

Comment:

Zolten was really nice. Just email him and make sure he knows about what you are going to talk about for your speech. Follow the blueprint and make the speeches interesting. Wants to make it feel like a conversation more than a speech. Really nice and easy to reach via email. Lets you sit during speeches and have small groups for the first two.

The man is a legend. He's won two grammys so he knows his music. He's opened up for Janis Joplin and has worked with Jack White. As long as you listen in class you will pass with flying color. His test are verbatim and he repeats things to make them clear.

If you get nervous speaking in front of crowds, this class is for you. He makes you talk in front of small groups for the first two speeches and then the whole class for the last one. You don't need a textbook, attendance is mandatory. Easy A if you follow exactly how his blue prints go.

The beginning of Stand Up Comedy class is boring as hell, but as you get into the more modern stuff it gets better. The whole class is watching YouTube videos, which kinda drags the class.

Helpful when it comes to preparing speech. Says he lets you pick your topic, but really he does not. Does not grade you on how good of a speaker you are, just his blueprint which is just dumb. Fairly easy teacher but can be a **** when putting in final grades.

Dr. Zolten is really awesome. The class is a pretty easy A if you put a little effort into it. I got a B on one of the three outlines for speeches and he told me pretty much exactly what to do and let me redo it to get an A. He cares about you doing well, is a really nice guy, and knows what he's talking about. Take him!!

I have had Jerry for a few classes and must say - they are very interesting and worthwhile. Make sure you show up to class - the workload is very light but the material is always interesting. Speech is a breeze for those who fear public speaking. He is a very highly-skilled professor who deeply understands the subject.

Mr. Zolten's class can be best described as rock & roll begins. You spend most every class listening or watching videos on the roots of rock & roll. Mr. Zolten definately knows his stuff and is very enthusiastic about the topic. If you're interested in the history of rock & roll then I recommend this course. You won't use the text so don't buy it!

JZ is an excellent professor. He loves what he talks about and it shows. Pay attention to the clips and listen to what he says. Base your notes off of the names/events on his study guides. He is always willing to help. Certainly one of the top 5 professors at PSU-A!!

This professor is a crack head. His Blueprints he has you do are absolutly rediculous. He has no idea what is it means to speak professionally. On the flip side it is a gaureented C [according to the sylibus] and realisticly an A
