Jim is a brilliant teacher. He is usually very helpful, and quick to respond to any questions over the weekend via email. This was a challenging course, but his curriculum was very organized, so it was clear what was expected of you.

Knows material: A+ Teaching Style: Mr. Rogers, very annoying, wastes a lot of time with useless details telling childish stories to illustrate points that usually ends up distracting and boring you, I asked some classmates and found I'm not the only one who feels this way. Take this class from someone else if you can.

I've had Jim for many classes (7 to be exact). He is a very knowledgeable teacher with years of industry experience. When it comes to doing hardcore low level Unix stuff he is a real wizard and there is a lot you can learn from him. He is also a very kind man who cares about his students and the subject he teaches.
