Comment:

Class started out great, but as the programs we wrote got more complicated, he gave us less direction so that we would learn to do things on our own. This was sometimes helpful, because if I did something on my own I would probably remember it in the future, but sometimes he would give us a tip that turned out to be the opposite of helpful.

jim is okay as a prof-- comes prepared to lecture, etc. but horrible if you're not a white male. i felt totally uncomfortable and unwelcome in his class and dropped out of the CS dept. because of jim. wear some damn shoes and make some eye contact.

He just never was very interesting and is a good teacher that taught an intro computer science course to people that knew nothing about computer programming. Therefore, the work load was tough, but he is very helpful when called upon for help.

A wonderfull person an very dedicated teacher. His focus is on theory, and because this stuff isn't always simple some of the classes he teaches require a bit more focus. He is organized and a fair grader.
