One of the worst among bad profs at SFU. There is frankly, no teaching. She reads slides to you without demonstrating problems and assumes you understand what is going on. Forget about asking her for help. Ditch lecture and either teach yourself or go to the stat workshop.

I think she could do better at teaching the material but, the course is not hard and you can study the notes on your own and you'll be fine. Exams are very similar to the practice midterm and you're allowed a formula sheet on exams. I got some help during her office hours and she was very sweet.

Absolutely useless professor! Do not take a class with her! She is completely overwhelmed with technology and the material in the course. Reads lines of R code in lectures which will not be tested on any exam. When you try to go to her for help she turns you away even after you explicitly said that you are unable to attend her office hour for help.

Unfortunately I think she was completely overwhelmed with the class size, technology, and teaching. She read lines of R code in classes - did not really teach anything about the written stats she would actually be testing on for midterms and finals. You have to learn this course yourself, but I thought the tests were fairish for what was covered.

Course was extremely easy, but Jinko was about as useful as a potato. Honestly just read the notes and you'll be fine. Most of the material covered you would have learned in previous stat course or can use common sense to figure it out. Don't waste your time going to class unless you need someone to read to you.

The course was fine but would have been much easier if I didn't have to teach myself. I felt as though I could not go to her to be able to ask questions and the lectures actually confused me more than made me learn. The practice tests she posted were very helpful and organized but did not assign more questions with solutions for us to practice.

This is a 3rd year course. Profs dont guide students through everything, at this point we are expectd to know how to do things ourselves! I found the course to be very clear and fairly graded. The midterms had an average of about 70. Lecture notes were clear and prof promply answered questions on Canvas. If you can self teach you will do well!

HORRIBLE professor. Avoid this class with Jinko if possible. She frustrated all the time and is not helpful what so ever. Assignments are useless because they are done on R (which isn't used for the midterms or the final). She has never ones gone over hand written examples in class.

deserves the award for most useless prof to ever exist. her notes are worded weirdly with lots of mistakes. very defensive whenever her methods are questioned and does not seem to care whether students feel prepared for exams or not. assignments and exam material are disconnected. gives passive aggressive answers on canvas discussion page

The lecture slides that she provides are clear and sufficient to do well in the course, but her execution in the actual lecture is meh.

STAY AWAY. If you see her as the prof for any class, DO NOT TAKE IT. She is the worst lecturer and does not explain things well at all. She just reads off her slides and is EXTREMELY defensive when it comes to answering questions. She expects you to know everything and won't answer you properly if you have a questions that "you should know already"

All she does in class is talk about stupid R software (which doesn't even help u for the assignments) plus it's not on the midterms. She never actually shows u ANY useful examples in lecture. Assingments are hard as hell since it's all about software coding. She can't teach at all her lectures are a mess so no point in going. Avoid this class!!

She makes a lot of mistakes on her slides and steps that it could cost you if you dont crosscheck with the book or catch her mistakes during lecture. Youre better off self-studying from the book or monopolizing Stats Workshop TAs for better clarity than during lectures.

The prof is hard to follow. She talks to the projector screen and is not clear about what she is pointing at. There are a lot of blank stares in each class. You will learn more from your textbook then going to class.

She knows her stuff really well, too well, I'd say, lol. She's actually very clear and make some very good notes, but sometimes her class is very boring which makes it hard to stay awake, :P. But otherwise, her exams are fair, as long as u truly understand the concepts. Assignments are tough, but doable. Only complaint: she didn't post solutions!

Uses the most simple example in class, and assignments have questions even grad students find difficult. Monotone, doesn't answer to emails, as final, puts questions from the assignments as practice questions.

She is an good lecturer: she can make a rather complex topic very accessible. On the other hand, her tests are a lottery. On one day the exam may be laughably easy, on the other - unbelievably challenging. Oh, and remember to take notes: she tests you on the material that is NOT covered in the book.
