Everyone hates gen eds, and he knows it too. I had him for my general literature class, there was no textbook, all we really did was answer questions about short stories in class and take exams that were open note and open screen, so we could use our computers. Easiest professor for a general education class.

Dr. Franklin always MORE than happy to help you when you need it. I took his Gen Lit online and it was tough, but he always helped when I was stuck.

Weird class. For a writing to learn class, this was WAY too easy. Assigns essays that you have to do by filling out templates and gives you assignments to fill out for each reading (that you don't turn in?) Overall, very easy to pass but I was expecting much more. I don't feel like I learned anything.

Very different methods of teaching English, that's for sure. But once you get the hang of his style of teaching (which includes templates for essays, and not knowing your class grade until the semester is over) it's a super easy class.

Professor Franklin is disrespectful to his students. He seems to think that he is God's gift to earth but he is a terrible teacher and I learned little to nothing from his class.

He seems to take a lot of pride in the fact the he is a "professor" as he constantly refers to himself in the third person. Weird.. He also constantly stresses that "this is a college level course" yet I find that hard to believe since he made use us a freakin TEMPLATE to write our essays. Disappointingly easy. A second grader could pass this.

Comment:
Professor Franklin fears being confused with a medical doctor; therefore, he prefers being called professor. He has little secondary level experience and is outdated on many levels. He is highly unprofessional as he gossips about faculty and students. Tact is a concept foreign to the poor man. I felt he wasted my time. Disappointing.

Prof. Franklin is a great teacher, though at first I found his methods to be a little odd, I ended up with an A in the overall class. Also, the last post on here REALLY made me laugh. This person clearly never learned a damn thing from any English class.

He's fair to everyone, but don't let him catch you texting. You only have to go to class 2 out of the 3 class periods which is great (one to get discussion questions, one to discuss your answers.) Is always available for help and gives great feedback on improving essays.

Good teacher who is very passionate about the subject. I took it as a writing to learn and had to write a total of 3 papers over the semester. There are a total of 3 grades in this class, the first one happens to fall right after the drop without a W deadline... Tests are kinda rough but if you do the reading you'll be fine.

Not a fan of his teaching style. Prides himself on being clear and direct but in reality makes things more complicated than the have to be. loves to hear himself talk. usually starts class 5-7min early. Assigns useless busy work.

This professor taught me the opposite of how I learned to write English. I went to the Writing Center (which he is the head of) and told one of the GA's that was helping me what he wanted. She didn't know what to tell me, b/c it's against what she learned as well. If you want an easy class this is for you, if you want to learn, get another teacher.

Professor Franklin is a really easy teacher. had him both for english comp. and gen lit..you get 5 missed classes. he almost always let you out early. it's best to go though, his test are a little difficult but makes that papers super easy to write. does say some rude things about other students and professors.

Great teacher and easy class. He says he wants to make it as easy as possible and he really does. The only down to the class was all the writing (WL)(4 essays for each test- 3 test) and the film project that takes a lot of time (but kind of fun.)
