Hey everyone who will be attending TCC and need to get a speech credit out the way I will tell you now that taking this man right here will make your life easy. Although he may be a great professor DO NOT TAKE his class if you are shy, but if your looking to break your mold then he's the way to go. Great guy and I enjoyed every class

Comment:

This was one of my favorite classes. My advice for this class is always show up on time, turn in everything required for the speeches, dress really nice, always look at the examples he provides on blackboard and you will do wonderful in this class. He almost always lets class out like 30 minutes early and he is super weird and cool.

He's the best professor. He's very upfront and does not tolerate late work, he doesn't accept it unless you had an emergency (with proof). He's also very funny and outgoing. He does grade hard, but if he sees you put effort and tried he'll give you credit. Also he gives extra credit.

This class is not for someone who is lazy. you will give 5 speeches and he grades hard. The best part is that he is funny and you will learn to publicly speak. wouldn't take if you get offended easily because he makes crude jokes.

If you are not comfortable with speaking in front of the class do not take this class. John Parrish does not care if you get nervous from speaking in front of people. He expects everyone to do their speech in his liking. He has no understanding of a students difficulty when it comes to speaking in front of the class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Respectable professor. Writes feedback out for you which he doesn't have to do but does it which I appreciated. Too strict with time (Counts you absent for two minutes late if you're usually running behind on time.) Wouldn't take him again preferably.

First day of class is pretty hilarious and not what you would expect at all. He gives the assignments at the beginning of the semester, but don't be scared, they're actually really easy. I would definitely take this class again. There's only one test that's split in two sections, so one at the midterm and one in place of the final.

He's funny and very upfront! His instructions were pretty clear for me. If you need help, he is there for you! If you don't do group projects, you failed the class. As long as you try, you will get a pretty good grade. He also tries to teach life lessons in his lectures to help us be better students and people.

He is one of the best. He is also a professor at TCU. So trust me, you are getting the best of the best. For all those complaining about how bad a professor he is, they are wrong. This is college, not high school. So do expect to do work. I gained confidence in public speaking by taking his class. He will make you work for an A.

He makes you buy a book that you will only use about two times. He is a very hard grader and if I were you I wouldn't take him at all. Avoid taking him. if you like talking in front of people then this is a class for you. He doesn't care honestly about any excuses. Almost half the class dropped and the rest made a C or a D

Im horrified of giving a speech but to tell you the truth he made it a lot easier. its a mandatory class for me and im glad that I chos him as my professor because hes not a lecturer at all. great person, the funniest person iv ever met, makes you open up. great great class and its because of him.

He is very upfront and tells you what it is expected the very first day. If you don't enjoy group projects and putting in lots of work, then this isn't the class for you. Mr. Parrish is a excellent teacher, do like he ask you to do. And there should be no problems.I think most the complainers on here just want it given to them. No he will not do that you will earn it, if you want it bad enough. Good luck to all it is a great class enjoy!

I was dreading speech because I am lousy at talking in front of others. The class is nothing but speeches and a test, but if you do the speech and the research needed for a few of the speeches, there is really nothing to it. The class is fun and informative. The class is almost finished and it was a blast!
