Thinks he is funny, and you might let out a giggle every now and again, but he makes jokes more than he teaches. The lectures are extremely informal, yet the papers require in-depth knowledge that he barely provides. USE HIS NOTES! They help understand what he doesnt teach. Show up more than you dont, but I skipped like 10 classes and passed.

John often digresses in his lectures. His humor and anecdotes keep the class engaging, though it also ended up cutting the curriculum a bit short for my class. There's a few writing assignments, and John actually takes the time to read, consider, and give specific constructive feedback on them, which I don't often see.

Had him for phil of psy. He gives interesting lectures and can be entertaining, but there's a lot of reading (no textbook, though) and a lot of short (2-3 page) papers. He's hard on grading the papers, and he takes FOREVER to grade them, over a month in some cases. That's irritating, but otherwise he's not so bad.

Had him for Philosophy of Language. The class was difficult, but not because he was trying to make it so. He was very helpful and always answered my e-mails quickly. Great sense of humor, which makes trying to learn easier... or at least more entertaining. Gives out study guides that are pretty much what's on the tests (incredibly useful).

Very good professor. He's funny and makes what could be a very dry and technical subject interesting and thought provoking. The atmosphere of this class is casual and he makes it easy to speak up and be engaged. While attendance is not graded, it is important to go if you want to do well int he writing assignments.

This prof makes you laugh, which is good, but he makes you think too, which is better. I was never bored -- high praise coming from me. I'm thinking about becoming a phil major because of him.

Its been awhile since I had him, but I remember really liking his teaching style. His class isn't too hard or too easy and he's funny so he keeps thing interesting yet he does teach well enough that he makes difficult things seem easy. If you have to take a logic class I highly recommend him.
