Comment:

The best Organic prof I've had. Made everything very easy to understand. Gives all your notes in class. Lots of practice on organic synthesis pathways. The textbook is just extra help. But getting it is super useful as some of the questions were in there. Take home midterms. Just critically think. Finals is very similar to the previous ones given.

This class is really interesting, John Woollard is a really good Prof, he actually makes you understand chemistry, really clear and is always there to make sure to understand the material. you have to go to every class he has, and show him you are really interested. Overall he is a great prof.

Terrible prof. I got a good grade in this class only bc I hired a tutor to teach me all semester. His notes were useless, he goes very fast. Basically prepare to learn by yourself out of the book. Be warned his tests are reflective of what he puts online but he throws weird stuff in there to trick you. Picky marker.

Gives examples that are easy to understand. Tests are very representative of material covered in lectures. He makes you work for a mark, but has reasonable expectations. He understands that most students have little prior knowledge of the subject and teaches to their level. Great prof! Very flexible and willing to help outside of class.

Comment:

Worst chemistry teacher i've had at university. He makes you write tests outside of class time, which messes with everyone's schedule. He oicks favourites and if you're not one of them, then you're basically screwed. His exams are hard and all over the place. Be ready to be tested on anything and everything if you take a class with him.

Hard class, hard prof!!! Honestly I think he marks VERY hard. Even if you have the answer he'll find some way to dock your mark, and he does that on every test!!! And he's a difficult prof, he doesn't explain things very well but expects that you know it.

Dr. Woollard is my favorite prof. He dumbs everything down so that anyone can understand it and everything on his exams are from the notes. His industrial chem class was really cool because we got to go on field trips and it's the first class that I've taken that actually pertains to a potential career path. Very intelligent & enthusiastic!
