Malloy is nice, but he is a horrible teacher. I havent learned very much german in the two semesters I've spent with him. Unfortunately he's currently the only German professor at Hamilton.

Comment:

This professor is insane! He forced students to buy at least 6 texts for his course. Not only that, he is boring and grades without compassion. Unlike what some people claim, he's actually very difficult and can thefore ruin your GPA. Take him if you like extreme challenges.

Comment:

Malloy's course was very challenging. Contrary to the claims of several of my peers, he assigned a lot of essays. Not only that, he's a harsh grader. I ended up receiving a C- in the class after loosing countless hours of sleep reading the assigned readings and writing lenghy essays. Overall though, I enjoyed his knowledge of German operas.

He's crazy! We didn't read any of the books that we were supposed to read. Nobody comes to class and he talks about all sorts of unrelated things during class. Avoid this class!

Totally off the wall. We watched lots of movies that had nothing to do with the class and talked about random nonsense all the time, and didn't do a third of the work we were going to. Easy A. He's totally batty, but very nice and friendly. An awesome guy, but watch out if you're genuinely interested in the material or if you disagree with him.Fun!

Prof Malloy is one of the best teachers I've ever come across. He knows his subject really well, teaches it well and takes the time to ensure everyone in the class understand the points he is making. He's also quite happy to answer questions - even if they aren't really relevant to the class.
