Really disappointed. I've taken design courses before; hers by far the weakest. We present work every week yet only comments are from other students. Hers very vague; avoids to say anything. Dismissive in office hours; lacks understanding for student issues (eg apply for grad school). Fake friendliness. Very frustrated & hurt. Avoid.

TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! the three hours were my favorite part of the week. i spent wayyy too much time on her projects because i enjoyed the work so much. she is the sweetest and explains things so clearly. plus, she brings in candy all the time. who wouldnt love it??

Loved her class. Very interesting, enthusiastic about material, and she's very nice. Fastest 3 hours of my day. Her comments on your projects are a little vague, and I wish she had been more specific on improvements on the first drafts. Overall, I loved the class and can't wait to take CM510 with her.

I learned so much in this class! Not just skills with the programs for the projects (which were really fun) but she also went into other design principles and even into the history of graphic design. She is awesome!!

i really enjoyed and looked forward to this class. she's really nice, and sometimes too nice or fake but overall a great experience. i learned a lot and enjoyed the projects and really WANTED to work on them. Gives you revision options to help your grade too. i liked her, take this class with her.

such a pleasant experiance. she is very helpful. veryy enthusiastic. projects are clever and you really get a good hold on using the adobe suite. she does have clear favorites, but treats everyone with respect. highly reccomend her class

I pity the previous posters who claim Professor Macario has any semblance of intelligence. A word to the wise: don't call her out on the useless banter she spews. I politely did so once, and found out she was gossiping to other professors that I was a "hostile" student. My grades--unlike the reverent comments she made on my work--reflected this.

Pretty good class - wasn't an advertising major, which is who she gears lectures/projects to, but liked it anyways. A bit condescending, but the projects are cool (ex. Nike ad, CD design) and though she can grade tough, I thought it was pretty fair

while i agree that she plays favorites and her niceness comes off at fake, i have to disagree that she gives grades for no reason. each project she told me EXACTLY why i got the grade i did. not exactly an easy class, but she knows A LOT about graphic design. take the class

Sweet, friendly in a fake sense, plays favorites. Willing to help during class on technical issues but when asked about content/style of work gives vague critiques then takes off points w/o explanation. Ask why you got a B- instead of a B, she'll say "wasn't a very sophisticated layout" um details?

Macario is really nice and a great teacher. I didn't know anything about Photoshop or Illustrator and you learn a lot in this class. The only problem is she is a hard grader, and it is difficult to get an A in the class. Take this class!

can you say favorites?? im sure that all the first row suck-ups (her favs) got A`s. If you have to kiss her butt to get an A, then that grade isnt deserved. as for prjects, she doesnt tell us what needs to changed when you ask her,so how are we supposed to do well if she doesnt tell us what to fix?

do not take this class if you already know basic computer skills on dreamweaver, powerpoint, etc and want to learn more. take it if you know it already and want an easy grade. it's one of the easiest classes i've taken yet. she's a bit condescending but a nice enough lady.

Friendly teacher but don't expect to get higher than a B- on any projects unless you do graphic design like a pro. She's really picky about grading, even if she helps you while developing the project.
