Extremely unorganized. Does not offer feedback on the papers she gives and won't tell you where you lost marks. Lecture material is very random and difficult to tie into a central topic (makes it harder to study). She doesn't assign readings until the very last week before the assessment. Doesn't give you adequate time to do essays.

Julie is a sweet woman, very soft spoken, who really cares about art. HOWEVER, she grades on the most random things and her marking scheme is NEVER clear. She tries to be helpful but sometimes it feels like she's in another world. If you're a diligent art student that wants a class to do some practice - go for it.

Interesting Class! Julie is a very intelligent,soft spoken lady. She kept me involved in the materials by using lots of different media's. Movies, music... everything! Stay for class so you don't miss anything!

She comes off as nice at first, but once you're on her bad side, good luck. I had to deal with this prof one on one over a couple years at Uwindsor, because of committee work, and meetings. She speaks down to people, and makes things more difficult than they need to be.

I got an A in the class despite everything. She was horrible at clarifying the assignments and seemed to forget it's a 100 level course and the midterm material was so random. If you really MUST give a go at this course, three things I can only advise is TAKE NOTES on EVERYTHING, don't buy the text(s), and go to class and stay the entire time.

ATTRACTIVE,VERY SOFT SPOKEN, AND SWEET. LECTURES CLEARLY ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT ON EXAMS. YOU PROBABLY WON'T GET A DECENT GRADE IF YOU LEAVE EARLY OR DON'T ATTEND. Interesting material. Says that "test and exam are 50% lecture and 50% text" - no. I wish I wouldn't have gotten the text. Posted notes online do not match her slides, and are extremely DISORGANIZED. Told us the WRONG FORMAT for the midterm in class. I studied according to format, and it was DIFFERENT! I was so upset. Cool class, nice lady, but meh

Wasn't quite sure what to expect taking her class. The material was interesting, and she was a mediocre if not a pleasant speaker at best. But like everyone else here, she was incredibly vague and unhelpful regarding assignments. I really wanted to like her because she comes off nice, but in the end she was more superficial nice than anything.

AWESOME Prof! She allows her students to develop their artistic practice without stifling them with too many restrictions. I could see those who lack imagination and creative talent not liking it - she won't spoon feed you or give you cookie cutter expectations, no EZ outs! She is incredibly knowledgeable in art history - I LOVE her lectures.

Oh man, this class was so bad I can't explain. I did not have much of a problem getting a decent grade, but holy ambiguity. I have to agree that she just did not have any clarity and her assignments were not as fun as she acted like they would be. I would not take this course again knowing what I know now.

This woman is so incomprehensibly boring. I am mad at my friend for recommending this class to me. The person below is correct, this professor does not have any structure or clarity. She is all over the place, I also did well but was not impressed with her marking scheme or her lectures.

I cannot believe this many people like this professor. I found her completely vague about everything she assigned and although I still did well,found her too unclear to actually follow and I didn't feel that I took a lot away from this class.She tells us assignments are opinion based and then takes off random marks-no reason.Boring class! Avoid!

One of the best professors I've ever had and one of the most useful classes I've ever taken. It was tremendously helpful to me as a Communications major, even though the class is outside the Comm category. Wonderful, wonderful experience. I recommend it highly.

She was a great professor. Even those people who did bad on the midterm she gave them a 5% bonus on their midterm and offered a bonus assignment. What other prof would do that? She is amazing!

I think shes over rated...she's a little too pretenscious for my liking...HARD marker, and unapproachable, unless of course you kiss her ass everyday :(
