Professor Martin is a great professor. I only wish he would involve the class a little more. He doesn't really ask anybody questions and when he does they are easily written off and you're left feeling like you don't know anything. The lectures are really heavy and so is the homework. Reading is a must. Showing up is a must. Good Luck!

Jim was a great professor. This class was incredibly easy, and he offers tons of extra credit. The only thing I didn't like was the notecards he uses to call on people & put them on the spot to answer questions. Other than that, I recommend this class if you're looking for an easy A.

His class is pretty easy if you come to class and read the PowerPoints. He puts study guides online which are helpful for the quizzes. The writing assignments are manageable if you know your materials. He does take attendance and usually calls on you to answer some of the homework. So yes doing the homework is helpful.

His class wasn't too bad. He's kinda boring when he lectures but he explains philosophy better than the book did. It's important to read the chapters and the quizzes were online and he drops 3 of them. His writing assignments weren't hard to write about and he offers extra credit. I managed to get a B on both exams just by reading his powerpoints.

I was pleased to earn an A in the course. I feel if you try, you are set up for success. In the online class he drops the two lowest quizzes (which you have three chances on) and grading is straightforward/easy. The only complaint I have is It would've been nice to have received more feedback in order to learn more but I'm happy I took the course.

About a chapter a class, sometimes a week. Read the text or youll miss a lot of multiple choice questions. There are "more correct" answers to questions sometimes on tests. Not a good first thing in the morning class.

The material is easy but you wont know what is going on if you don't read. His lecture slides can be kind of confusing because they don't follow all the material in the book exactly. Some of his lectures can be unclear and sometimes confusing because it seems like he has a hard time describing the analogies in the text.

This is a 100 class, and is taught as such, he isn't expecting philosophers, but is introducing you to the concept, and makes it applicable to life. The text is online, and free! The class is very well organized, discussion board posts, quizzes, and midterm and a final, with extra credit. Professor was helpful and responsive to emails. Recommend!

Pretty straight forward online class. I took the 8 week online course and would definitely recommend. Each week there is a participation blog and online quiz which are really easy. Then there are two essays, one mid term and one final, and then the class was over. take it if you need the units. Great online professor.

Lots of chances for extra credit. The beginning was confusing, but he slowed it down a bit. Show up, pay attention, and do the homework or you will not do well. Nail out the early assignments (they're easier) and you won't have to do the later assignments. I didn't have to take the final and I got an A.

I have never commented on here before but just have to say this guy is NOT an easy grader. 90% of the grades are descretionary and his instructions are extremely unclear, except for the quizes. I just found out you need to print the quiz on your first attempt and then look up all the answers to get a 100. Too late for me.

I don't understand why all of these reviews rate Professor Martin as "easy". He is the hardest-grading teacher I have ever had.

Professor Martin is an amazing teacher! It's really easy for professors to disregard their students in online courses but he was very attentive and helpful. He was a prompt/fair grader and responded to emails quickly. I definitely recommend!

Super easy class I got an A and I barely showed up or read the assigned readings. The class was super boring and thats one of the reasons I never showed up. He can be a bit boring when he talks as well. If you want an easy A take him if you want to be motivated or interested in a class dont take him!!

Well this class was extremely boring. All we did was read and go over what we read everyday. We had 3 papers, only 2 were mandatory, 4 quizes and he dropped the lowest grade, 2 exams with an option to take the final if your grade is high enough from the 2 exams. Easy class just read the book and you should be fine.

This was a really easy class - 2 of the 4 papers are "optional" and you don't have to take the final if you do well on the 2 midterms. You are assigned reading everyday but you go over all the reading the next day in class. He was really nice and the class was impossible to fail in. The topics were also pretty interesting!

He is the most down to earth, easy to talk to teacher I've had. He really makes it easy to succeed and enjoy the course. The class is very laid back and he makes our class discussions fun. I'm taking his 101 course next semester. Definately take his class!

Professor Martin is awesome! His class is easy to pass (I got an A without having to try that hard) and the class was interesting in general. There were some kids in the class who were very rude and would talk all the time while he was lecturing, but prof. Martin was too big of a sweetheart to tell them to shut their pie holes. Nice guy, fun class.
