Really enjoyed taking Professor Henthorn's class. Attending class is the best way to get notes as slides are not always posted. Class activities always helped to solidify learning and hinted what to study for test. She offers extra credit. Overall, she is a great and knowledgeable professor!

Don't take Dr. Henthorn's class. I actually love Biology, but I hated this class. She talks down to students and tries to turn scientific concepts into fluffy watered down metaphors. She's very disorganized, forgets to post things, and doesn't correct her mistakes when testing students on material that she forgot to cover.

While the professor was extremely knowledgeable about Bio 101 information it was as if she didn't want us to learn it or do well. She made everything much harder than it needed to be. No study guides or guidance for exams. Also 2 "mandatory" field trips on non scheduled class days. Disappear from lab and that gets upset when you complete it wrong.

she is a nice professor that's for sure but she is not organized and she would post a homework online the say it's due that specific day but put at the bottom that it's due the next day to be honest her exams are far from easy it;s really hard and she doesnt tell you what to study for the exams and gives extra credits which doesnt really help .

Professor Henthorn is an excellent professor. Hew knowledge is exemplary which translates through her lectures. Class is very engaging and interactive. The summer course is very dense, but the powerpoints and assignments made it easier to grasp the information. Tests were long, but reviewing lecture notes and textbook is the best way to prepare.

a very smart woman, and clearly knows her stuff, but that information is not relayed to you in an effective way. labs are confusing and she is condescending when you don't understand. assignments are posted last min, and the due dates are always wrong so you never know when it's due. no guidance for what to study. class harder than necessary.

Not helpful at all. She gives us extra credit points but it doesn't do much unless you really know the material. She posts assignments last minute a day before you come into class and doesn't give a heads up on the assignments. Instructions are useless because it's printed, but when you ask her she expects something else.

She'd be a wonderful conference speaker but as a professor, her class could really benefit with some more structure & clarity. For every exam, I had no idea what would be on it & no study guide. A particular grader, so study class activities. On plus side, most assignments were graded by completion. Attendance points are essential; don't skip.

Don't take her. Honestly, if your 5 point from failing the class she wont care. She gives plenty of extra credit but clearly didn't save me. Her test are ridiculously hard, she literally doesn't prep you at all. All she says/does for exam is "oh all the slides will be on the test" no type of preparation/help. I would never recommend.

Dr. Henthorn is educated and have a strong background in biology. She tend to go off topic sometimes. Get ready to copy the powerpoint slides, cause that's what you're gonna study for your exams. She posted the pp on the bb though. I actually studied home on my own, but managed to get an A. She has a thing with attendance and leaving early.

this prof isn't HORRIBLE but she isn't amazing either, she does give extra credit points/ assignments. she does not give study guides and her 3 exams are based on powerpoint slides that contain 30 or more slides and she isn't specific on what to study. labs are not that hard but you have to pay attention. final is accumulative with no study guide..

I took her 5-week class and I didn't feel overwhelmed or over-worked. I work a full-time job as well and she gives a lot of extra credit assignments, lab is easy and really just participation points, and she gives every opportunity to pass. Study your notes and read the book and its an easy "A". She gets off topic sometimes.

Professor Henthorn is amazing. The class was an easy A, I had over 1000 points out of 1000 at the end of the class. She gives lots of extra credit, flexible with material and even though it was a 5 week class, I didn't feel being rushed. She is passionate about biology and explains concepts in detail which makes the lectures interesting.

Took this hybrid class over the summer to transfer to my school. The material is so easy that it isn't a hard class. If you have taken any high school biology before, this should be an easy A. She gives tons of extra credit opportunities which was nice. Field trips were a waste of time, but good grade booster. She could do better at ending on time.

No study guide or a general info of what to expect on exams! Uses hand geustures to explain things. Expects students to remember things from previous bio classes. All in all avoid unless u want to be lost!

I took Dr. Henthorn for 101 and she was honestly a great choice. Her exams were difficult but if you manage to get an 80+ on all of them and participate, you should get an A. She gives massive amounts of extra credit and is very nice.

No homework, sometimes extra credit assignments. Three 50 question tests one 100 q Final. Lectures are boring but she tries to make it fun. Labs take up a big portion of the grade. If you come to all the labs and you get 75+ in all exams you get an A. Tests not that hard, its pretty easy if you remember high school biology.

Throughout the semester I thought I was failing because the exams require students to apply the knowledge learned in class sometimes the exam questions dont evem relate to lecture notes. The only thing that saved my grade was the immense amount of extra credit that was given at the end of the semester. That saidgo to class everyday if uwant extracr
