Comment:

Kathy is awful. Her lectures and guest speakers have nothing to do with the class. She doesn't teach, you have to read the text book cover to cover. She doesn't listen to her students input and she doesn't want to help. She can't relate to any of her students and she hardly knows what she is teaching. Test questions are crap- they make no sense.

Comment:

Environmental psychology is Kathy's passion and it shows in the class. She requires a lot of reading, but the material is amazing, so I didn't mind it. She also required quite a bit of writing, which I found frustrating at first, but in the end all the writing turned out to be really helpful.

Kathy is not helpful and often times made students feel stupid. She is not very clear on what she wants out of you and I would not recommend taking any class from her.

Comment:

French operates under deep insecurity masked by sugar-coated niceties and fluff. The smile and sluggish speech act to engage in a power struggle for control in order to avoid being found out. No one wants to call her on her substancelessness for fear of enduring a wearying, saccharine, endless one-way speech where no actual communication occurs.

As a teacher, French just doesn't cut it. You literally have to memorize 80 page chapters for a quiz, not to mention every slight detail she happens to say in class. Quiz questions are ridiculous and make no sense. You have to write extremely hard 8pg research papers. I study and memorize for 10+ hrs and do badly. Hard work for below average grades

I would rather have a root canal than sit thru her class.She is all over the place on ideas and only her ideas are respectable. Hated every minute of these classes. Easy subject, horrid teaching style. Sign up for any other instructor!

Here's the thing with Dr. French. She's definitely not all there. But she loves what she teaches, she loves her students. She isn't out to fail you, but she does expect you to work HARD for your grade. She won't make you take the tests if your quiz grades are 85%+. I didn't take a test or the final. If you want that A,read every chapter. I did. ;)

This teacher is crazy. DO NOT TAKE HER. If you have a billion hours to study the book, you'll still suck in this class. She is out to fail you and she will no matter how hard you try. The material is supposed to be fun but she rambles in class and then her tests are incredibly hard.

Don't take from her! Teacher tries to teach you everything but the subject. Everything we were doing I was doing in my English class. She hardly spoke about the actual subject and when she did It wasn't helpful. She really could have expanded on more educational points. She treated us like children, was so tight with everything, and made a grown man tear up....she was so confusing and frustrating, and used old videos and information, and then didn't use the book but tested us out of the book. The tests were hard and you had to know things that were not important, if you can avoid taking her, do.

Dr. French was the most frustrating teacher I've ever had. Massive amounts of reading with unreasonable quizzes over irrelevant, minute details. She does not respect the opinions of others, nor was she helpful when I met one-on-one either. She made it apparent that knew very little about the subject. Oh, and don't let her find out if you are LDS.

WOW!!! Interesting lady. The first day I wanted to bang my head against the desk because her voice was grinding on my nerves. She talks to the class like they are toddlers, not cute! She grades your papers more harsh than your English teacher. You have to read the entire book. Quizzes are ridiculous. loved the subject, hated the teacher!

Kathy French is amazing! Her tests are extremely easy if you do your reading,and her views are a breath of fresh air for the closed-minded mentality of Utah county. She really makes you think and is very sweet and enjoyable.

Comment:

Dr. French is a kind person. As a teacher she provides scholarly and thought provoking literature to her students. She challenges her classes to consider alternative perspectives. Much of her course content directly relates to the importance of empathy and the principles of understanding and accepting others. I highly recommend her class.

Not a super hard class, TONS of reading. French is very liberal, and her opinion is the only opinion. She loves bashing the LDS religion, its brought up almost every class. French doesnt teach very much, and the quizzes are totally random. Be prepared to read the book for hours, to maybe pass the quiz.

French can be very difficult to listen to. She talks so slowly. She doesn't cover much in class so you have to read almost everything on your own. Good thing this is an easy subject. The assignments aren't hard and there is extra credit. She tries not to, but you can tell she favors the smart students. I would find a different teacher.

WORST TEACHER EVER!!!This lady drives me absolutely nuts!!!! she has the most annoying voice ever and she is doesnt even know what she is saying half the time. You have to read so much basically all i learned in this class was how to read a huge text book! at all costs dont take this class if you dont fail she will drive you crazy!!!
