Grade is based on three essays (6-10 pages each), a short bio presentation, a small presentation of the readings for one class period, and attendance/participation. Super funny, super easy class. I only read the stuff for my presentation and did just fine. Watch a lot of short films and a lot of in class discussion. Doesn't go for whole class time.

Chill professor. You'll have a lot of papers, and at the end of the semester, theres a 12-15 page paper. Interesting (sometimes) class, but writing papers were horrible.

I recommend taking this class if you like a lot of discussion. There are only three papers the whole semester on top of a couple of small assignments. The papers are somewhat lengthy (anywhere from 6-12 pages) BUT they are on interesting topics. She loves stories and is super friendly. GREAT CLASS!

I wasn't wild about the subject, but she is a good prof. She makes you see things from a different angle. She's not always appreciative of other views, but all in all shes a good prof. I would take another class from her.

She was an amazing professor! I recommend that everyone take this class with her! I am not one for participating in class discussion, but I did every single day in this class. It was fun and when you walk away from the class, you look at life a little differently and in a better perspective :)

My Fav teacher at Oakland by far! very interesting classes and always is up to date on things going on in the world. very friendly and easy grader. 3 papers and a few in class activities. would recommend taking her to everyone!

This is a great class to take. She makes interesting point. Not much work at all. All my class had was three easy papers and she grades very easy. Its not at all hard to get an A in this class. Wonderful professor...Take her!

I read that this class was a real eye-opener. I could barely keep my eyes open in this class. She was lucky she made this class have mandatory attendance because nobody would have shown up. She's always grumpy and unenjoyable to be around. She's the old lady who doesn't pass out candy on Halloween. Take someone else for this yawn-fest.

Awesome professor! The class is interesting and I saw it as a good break from my more demanding classes. There are 3 papers and 2 reading logs due per week. She is really funny. Attendance counts miss 7 classes automatic C miss more than that you fail. There are chances at extra credit. This class isn't only for women.

I absolutely love this prof! The class is very interesting, and you'll learn so much, she's helpful and always willing to do what she can and more, one of the best prof's I've had, class is pretty easy, requires class discussion, is fun and very interesting, i actually looked forward to class!

This teacher is great. Many in class discussions about interesting topics. No homework assignments or finals, just three easy papers. Reading assignments are given very often, but are only used to talk about in class, she doesn't check that you have read them.
