Comment:
Tests were hard and their grading was nit-picky. She had some issues with deadlines, but that's expected for a research professor. However she fully answered any student's questions with no judgment. Class accelerated in difficulty after ch. 1 and 2. Manageable workload, required essay was relevant to tests. Very thorough class.

Don't buy anyone saying she doesn't care about her students. Exams are incredibly difficult but they are curved. I thought the class was taught in a fair way. If you put work in you will be okay

One of the worst classes in my undergrad. We spent half the semester on one chapter and rushed through the rest of the material. Lots of memorization and online homework. Dr Miranda is very strict and not funny. Don't use your cell phone in class, she'll kick you out. Awful class.

I loved the way Dr. Miranda executed her lectures. Sometimes there was confusion, but she would always do her best to clarify at that moment instead of brushing it aside. It was so so helpful to go to office hours; it definitely helped my grade because she could present the information in a different light when on a one-on-one basis.

She is a good professor, knows what she's doing. BUT, this is the first time she teaches 151 and to summarize the course in one word "nightmare". Endless sapling homework which is frustrating sometimes, class averages are always less than 60% (Other classes have averages of 75%). Slides are always not clear, the preceptors are not clear either.

Dr. Miranda is an incredible teacher. Though her lectures can be monotonous or unclear, she genuinely cares about her students and will gladly help if you show interest. Homework is required and useful, though difficult. Tests are tough but fair, and will be curved reasonably at the end of the course. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

Lecture-not focused and too many off topic comments. You need to pay attention for heavily weighted test questions about random comments in class. Homework - 50% is address in lecture. Reading the text and background is the best thing to finishing the homework. Office Hours-Some weeks, this was the only shining light. BUT..I signed up for a class!

She's smart but she is possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. She does not at all care about her students. She purposefully asks questions on exams that she maybe mentioned for a minute during lecture. FOR EXAMPLE, she asked us about Sn.After pretty much everyone got it wrong, she claimed she mentioned it on the first day of class.

Dr. Miranda is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Her honors chem class is very difficult, but worth it if you are willing to work. She is very friendly and willing to help if you are willing to ask questions and learn. Do not take this class if you are lazy, because if you do you will fail. Lots of new chemistry concepts and hard exams.

Definitely a solid professor. She makes lecture interesting, and even though the material is extremely dry and difficult, she rewards the class with great summaries of key points. She's really into teaching this class, so take advantage of her help. Definitely happy I chose this course over gen chem.

She is a fantastic teacher! Her lectures are kind of random and she does go on a lot of tangets, but if you ever need help, she will go out of her way to make sure you get the help you need. Just make sure you ask.

Well, you sign up for chemistry so you are going to expect a tough course. Professor Miranda knows what she is talking about (most of the time) but she isn't the best at teaching it. She goes off on tangents a lot and gives you information that really isn't necessary for the test so make sure you go to office hours if you're lost.

She was a nice person, but the class was very difficult. The tests were killer, even though they were always curved a lot. The class was curved a lot as well. She goes off on a lot of random tangents and there are so many units that it seems like we never learned anything fully.
