Comment:

If you love powerpoint lectures don't take this class. You will not get them. He just talks for an hour and you copy what he says down. The essays were super easy! He does not give specific prompts, he gives you a list of topics and you can choose one and write whatever about it. Tests are kinda hard but go to the review sessions!

This class is the worst class I've ever taken! It's hard to follow how you're doing in the class, nothing is on the class web page, the prompts for the papers aren't prompts its a piece of paper with the topics written on it with no description of what to write about, and professor is super boring; All in all DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Avoid him! I heard great things about him, but I was disappointed. He knows a ton about religion, but he's so unorganized and inconsistent. The content exams deviates so far from the study guides, you have no clue what to study. He didn't stick with the syllabus, and he does assigned seats, so people in the back can barely hear the lecture

Dr. Burns is great, he's an adorable old man and he's super sweet. Honestly, this class is the class for you to do other homework in. Just do the 3 papers and make sure you go to the study sessions before the tests run by the TAs to study and you will get an A. You don't really need to buy the text book but you should buy the class notes

This class will be easy if you attend the review session, which is the night before the test, it's just has 3 exams and 3 papers, Judaism, Christian then Islam, the 3 papers worth 30% it's super easy A, and the tests 70% you need to study for it at least 4 or 5 hours, the attendance are mandatory, don't buy the textbook, RECOMMEND for easy B+

Not sure how people are rating this class so easy, I'm a straight A junior and I strongly disagree. Exams don't have any multiple choice, so you have to memorize a ton of names and random facts about them. Doesn't use powerpoints, or D2L really, so there's nothing to review for the exam except for one page he gives you with about 20 words on it.

This class was the easiest gen ed that I have taken yet! Attendance is mandatory, however, you do not need to pay attention! You also do not need to buy the textbook. There are 3 exams and 3 essays.. graded by the TA's! I would highly recommend taking this class. :)

A great teacher! He explains everything well and tells you exactly what he wants from you from the beginning. Tests can be really easy if you go to the study sessions. Only three papers and three test all easy and no final. You don't even have to use the textbook if you go to class. Overall a fairly easy class and interesting.

Very understanding teacher, soft spoken so sit near front, gives study guides direct from test, have to read one text for paper, others optional. Attend class for notes, not posted on D2L. Guest speakers are great, he will help in office hours. READ THE HANDOUTS!

One of my favorite professors. This guy is SO sweet and very much like a grandfather to his students.Also very funny. By far one of my favorite classess. He knows his material, and he cares about teaching.

Great professor. As long as you attend each lecture and study a bit for the exam you will pass the class easy enough. Don't miss any homework, there are not that many assignments and it could affect your grade. 3 exams and 1 paper.

This class was so boring it was ridiculous. Dr. Burns just lectures at your for an hour and you sit there counting the minutes until it ends, because even though it is interesting material, he somehow manages to present it so it's more boring than you can imagine.

Burns is very boring in class but it's no problem, I didn't have to pay attention in class and still got a good grade. The key to this class is doing well on the 3 essays assigned for each religion and going to the review sessions for the tests. All you need to know about the tests is given at the review sessions, and I mean literally everything.

This class is easy. Just go to the review sessions before every test. Don't bother taking notes or buying the books. The class is dull and its best to think of it as a facebook surfing class. He says everything is important most things arn't. His class is more annoying than easy. GO TO THE REVIEW and you'll do fine. The essays are easy too.

BEST CLASS EVER. super easy class, all you have to do is show up basically and go to the study sessions for the tests and study everything from the study session and you will get an A. essays are pretty easy too, Dr. Burns really cares about his students and in helping them succeed.

Great teacher. He cares about the subject and his students. The class is easy if you show up and do the work. As long as you cite EVERY sentence you will get an A on the papers. The material is interesting but the way he presents it is boring. You HAVE TO study for his tests. His papers are easy to write and he lets your rewrite the first one. I got A's on all the papers. It's the tests that will get you. KNOW your essays for the tests and know all the material. It wasn't the WORST class ever.
