Hands down, the BEST professor in the English department. DO NOT PASS UP AN OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE DR. YOUNGER'S CLASSES. You won't regret it. Not only is he an all around cool person, he's helpful, funny, cares about his student's and their opinions, and really talented. 100% made me want to be a better writer AND be his friend. 10/10

He truly wants all his students to succeed. He challenges them and motivates them. Honestly the best teacher I've ever had. Tough, tough grader, yes. But well worth the experience of actually developing well rounded critical thinking.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. This class was not easy, he expects a lot from you and there is a large amount of reading (consisting of plays and history of theater.) However, you really do learn due to the consistency. He's also a very funny and understanding guy who will help you if you have trouble with the class. Very inspiring too.

Professor Younger is a genius. Each class is like a performance supported by the class. Everything is very discussion-focused. DO THE READING. grades are based on projects, not essays and the projects are INTENSE but not impossible. i cannot recommend this class more. Younger is amazing. Take his class and join his fan club.

Passionate, inspiring, clear, and yes, demanding. All the things a teacher should be. This is coming from a lazy person who dislikes school, but I can appreciate a brilliant teacher like Younger. In fact, I dislike school because there are so few teachers like him. Take him!

lots and lots of reading. homework basically every class period with quizzes and questionnaires due before every class. always tries to make the class cry and gets really emotional for some reason. get a bit too over dramatic. i know it's a drama class but cmon. not an easy class at all

Honestly the most inspirational and intellectual professor in my college career thus far. He genuinely wants his students to walk out of his class with a newfound appreciation of plays and will illuminate the world (of drama) in an entirely new and amazing light. I harbor so much intellectual respect for him, I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful teacher. Engaging, fun, energetic. He'll try to scare you on the first day with his 10-pp syllabus, but it's all sarcasm, and is meant for you to be motivated. You'll do well if you try hard and you'll have fun, as well.

Dr. Younger is the most incredible teacher ever. He is a genius at teaching, not just in his subject. If he was about 15 years younger I would try to be his best friend. If you hate drama (plays), don't take this class. I loved it and the play selections are very interesting. There are two HUGE projects, a lot of work, but worth it. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!

Kelly Younger is a fantastic professor. I thoroughly enjoyed his class and I'm planning on taking his playwriting workshop next semester. It's fun and challenging, and you'll learn a lot. Don't fall behind on the work though. There are two massive projects, but don't be intimidated, it is absolutely worth it!

One of my favorite professors during my three years at school. He is intelligent and entertaining, and can literally turn almost any experience into a lesson. He is extremely helpful, and very open-minded. If you have a rough idea he can help you mold it into a script before you even realize it. HIGHLY recommend him.

Younger is a great professor. He gets you really interested in the material and makes plays fun to analyze. I had so many epiphanies in this class it's like it's philosophy and drama combined in one. He doesn't assign research papers and his projects are laborious but absolutely doable. I would definitely take him again.

Challenging, yes. Helpful, sometimes. Does not clearly explain what he is looking for. I went to talk to him once, and I felt as though he didn't want to hear what I had to say. Did not receive much help. No encouragement. For teaching at a small school, he sucks at that. Liked some of the plays we read, but would not take another class with him.

Seriously the best teacher at LMU. Would change my entire schedule to have a class with him. Everything is clear and he is not at all condescending (though he may be the only teacher who deserves to be.)

I had at least a few epiphanies in his class. He can take the most complex concepts and break them down into a few sentences so that you get goosebumps. He gives you freedom so you don't have to always think inside the box.
